“You peel off the skin and see the ugly underneath.” ─Annalyss Saw Part II: Danse de la Mort Noir Dance of a Black Death PROLOGUEIt was melodies and tones, instruments and songs all day long. I fell in bliss in the art of music the moment I heard of it ─ the moment my eyes glance upon an instrument. Piano was my first. Then came the singing. The others used to listen to me as I played till my heart's content. After a while, I began to explore. Violin, clarinet, trumpet, drum, flute, cello. There are so many possibilities, and they are not even all of them. But for each instrument, every touch is adoration. And with adoration, comes love. Soon though, love grows dark, and eventually leads to the Fall. Those days of peace were so beautiful that I never thought it would turn out like that, and I took it all for granted. I was too depending. I still am. I was so gullible back then. I did not appreciate what I already had. I could not see the truth clearly, because I was blinded by emotions ─ things that I should not had. But music is not heartless. It moves the hearts, either mortal or immortal. It carries on and it never stops. It flows and spreads, almost like a disease. And just like that, by siblings fell along one by one. Flashes of memories from the war are still fresh in my minds. It was violent and merciless. The things that happened back then were nothing like I have ever seen before. I have watched the humans evolved. They kill each other in wars, but this battle of ours was more brutal than anything else. Wings were ripped. Blood, red and fresh, were everywhere. Suddenly the sky was not bright anymore, and the Throne did not smile back when I glance at Him. The distance was closing in. The air grew heavy. I stood there in silent tears. Without as much of a goodbye, I was casted out. Me and everyone else.
