Morning Adventures

Chapter 1 

Knock Knock

“My lady, are you awake yet?”

As I’m looking out of the window of my room in my palace, I inhale the smell of the morning dew. The warm morning shining its rays across my smooth dark skin as the morning’s wind cooled it.  Although I’m still on my bed, my head is turned to meet the opening of the window. My eighteenth birthday is today.

 I’ve been laying on my bed for the last ten minutes looking up at my ceiling. It was never anything beautiful, there was nothing in particular about that wall of my bedroom that would keep me staring in particular there, and keeping me away from her morning activities. But now that I look at it, I’m thinking of how much I’m going to miss waking up to this sight. 

The noise of the clock at the center of the city is starting to ring, signaling the beginning of a day.  

“Come in,” I say to my maids.

They obey, opening the door to find me still laying down. They get to work, setting up my vanity and looking through my dresser to find something suitable for the Grand Duke’s daughter.

“Just take out my leisure time clothing” I say, pushing for them to do something they really are not supposed to. 

“My lady you know tha-” 

“I said the leisure clothing, you know I’m going to change out of whatever gown you try to constrict me into anyways” I say before she even finishes. 

“Yes m’lady” 

My outfit for the day includes an overalls with mismatching clock scattered around and a striped cape sleeved long shirt under. On my neck gleams an emerald green pendant with gears pushing around it. My brunette hair pushes out to around my mid-back as I make my way over to Griffin’s room. 

I push the door open quietly, so as to not awake him.
