Chapter 1: The Only Logical Thing

740 Words
“Skylar wake up we’re here" "Skylar! Skylar Pierce! Go pick your room, come on" I groaned opening my eyes slowly seeing a nice house surrounded by woods. That will be nice for Snow. "I'm going, I'm going" I sighed climbing out of the car with my backpack. It's just my mom and I, my dad died a few years ago from a rouge attack and I don't have any siblings. My mom was pregnant when my dad died but the pain from her loss caused her to miscarry. My dad was an amazing leader. He was the Beta of the pack and my grandfather was the Alpha of my mother's old pact that she belonged to before leaving with my father. I hadn't had such luck with love. I haven't found my mate I'm not sure I want to anymore but I had an ex-boyfriend, Devin, who was really possessive and abusive especially after finding out we weren't mates when I turned 16. He got out of hand and dangerous so my mom and I decided to leave. My alpha understood why we were leaving and recommended an old friends pack in Prescott so here we are. The house was already furnished, I guess it was a perk of our new pack and it was gorgeous. I walked through the halls peaking into each room. The house was way too big for the two of us but that just means more rooms for me to choose from. I came to a stop seeing a nice baby blue room with white and black furniture. There was a nice bathroom and a walk-in closet. I fell back on the bed staring at the ceiling grateful that the moving truck didn't get here until tomorrow. Sadly I have to start senior year tomorrow too but hopefully I'll meet some friends. There is a few packs at this school which I can already see being a problem. Deciding I was done for the day I shimmied under the sheets not bothering to change my clothes and fell asleep in seconds. Next Morning I sighed as my alarm went off, deciding to not throw my phone and simply turn it off. I dragged myself out of bed hopping in the shower and throwing on black jeans and a grey long sleeve slipping on some grey vans. "I'm leaving for school" I yelled walking down the stairs and grabbing the car keys. My wolf, Snow, was on edge the whole way to school and she's been pacing in my mind sense we got here. I'm expecting it's nerves she is quite a show off. After all the problems with Devin I trained really hard and worked my way up through the warrior ranks before we moved. Snow likes to show off and needs people to know we're strong so I think the move is the hardest for her. Having to prove herself all over again. I walked up to school smirking at the stares as I made my way up to the office. "Hello it's my first day here my mother called last week there's supposed to be a schedule for me" I greeted smiling at the women at the desk. "Oh you must be Skylar! Here's your schedule and just ask if you have any questions" she smiled brightly at me a little too happy to be awake at 7 in the morning . "Thank you" I smiled before walking out. I have no idea where I'm going. "Hey! I'm Carly you're new here right?" A small blonde girl smiled confronting me right as I walked out of the building. "Uh yeah, my names Skylar" I answered slightly creeped out. "I was asked to meet you here I'm in the New Moon pack too, here to greet you" she spoke cheerily. "Um okay" I replied shocked as she snatched my schedule from my hands. She squealed loudly flipping the schedule towards me. "We have two classes together! Come on let's go our first hour is this way" she yelled grabbing my hand and pulling me down the hallway. What is this girl on. She pulled me into a classroom my senses immediately filled with the scent of strawberries and mint. "Mate! Mate!" Snow screamed in my head making me freeze. I made eye contact with the most electric blue eyes. "Mine" he growled so I did the only logical thing, I ran.
