I stumbled down the road. My sister was sleeping in my arms. Or she was dead. I couldn't tell. As far as it concerned her, it was almost the same. We ran out of babysupplies just this morning. I was on my way t my grandparents' with my one-year-old sister, a bagpack, one diaper, one half of a portion of baby food, one small pocketknife, one blanket and a map of the city.
I stopped and checked the map. It was really old, but still worked. We were still on the right track but there were too many monsters on the road.
It was three days after the Zombys took over the city. Three days after mom went missing. As far as I was concerned, she told me she needed to go shopping. She told me we were running out of medicine and that I needed to stay and watch my little sister. So I stayed. While everyone left for the countryside, I stayed and tried to fend off the Zombys. It worked for two days. It wasn't that smart thought. I ducked behind the next corner. We were nearly there. As far as I knew, Zombys weren't that smart or anything. They were slow but strong. At least what I knew.
My grandparents lived a bit on the edge of the city, but not too far from us though. It usually took us just a twenty minutes' ride on the subway to get there. But it usually didn't include a Zombyapocalypse. Usually was before that. The subway station was loaded with Zombys by the time I got there. So I had to walk. Or rather creep around for more or less five hours with a little baby, which was a lot less nice than taking the subway.
I turned another corner. It was finally the street my grandparents lived in. Like she was waiting for exactly this moment, my sister woke up and started crying instantly. No way we were going down this way. I tried filling her mouth with something, but too late.
Every single Zomby turned their head in my direction.
So I started to run.
