1 I can’t blame Halli for what she did. She knew she was dead. I know now, too. What do you do when your real life is over, and all you have left is this one? You do the best you can. And if you’re Halli Markham, you do a better job than I’ve been doing, pretending to be her. “I’m not like you,” she told me. “I can’t be you.” I know that. Any more than I can be her.
