Original Heirs

Chapter 13

Hope’s Pov:- 

“What do you mean by that,” I asked while shivering terribly under his watchful eyes. He pressed the back of his hand on my cheek while staring into my eyes,

“What I mean is that… You are made for me… only me!” he said huskily while stroking my cheek, he was so close to me that if I move, our lips could touch. I was breathing rapidly and the way he was staring at me wasn’t helping at all. 

“Please…” I whispered, My mind was clouded with an unknown feeling and I was no longer making any sense. I don’t know why I was requesting him but I wanted to let loose and make this feeling disappear. 

We kept staring at each other while breathing hard, I could hear my heart beating rapidly against my ribcage. I could almost hear my own heartbeat, it was that loud. 

All of a sudden, his face expression changed and he took a step back. He glanced at me once before walking out of the room, leaving me alone in the room. I took deep breaths and tried to control myself. 

I walked towards the bed and sat on the edge of it, I glanced at the mug of water and quickly poured water into any empty glass placed beside it. I drank it whole and placed it back on the nightstand. 

What should  I do now, I thought as I stared at the floor. 

Should I sleep and talk to him in the morning, I thought while glancing at the bed. 

I sighed as I laid back, I think It’s best to sleep now, I thought. 

I pulled the blanket over me and as soon as I closed my eyes I slipped into a deep slumber.

I woke feeling sun rays falling on me, I groaned and tried to block it by pulling the pillow and placing it over my head. As I was about to sleep peacefully I heard the sound of the door opening and closing, I quickly opened my eyes and sat up.   

I saw Dakota walking towards me with some clothes in his hands, “Get ready,” he said while placing them on the bed, I stared at him without saying a word as he turned around and walked away. 

I sighed and got up from the bed, I walked inside his bathroom and did my morning routines. After taking a shower I wrapped a towel around my body and walked outside. I dressed up, combed my hair and walked out of the room. 

As I was making my way towards the stairs, I saw Blade walking out of his room. Hearing my footsteps, he stopped and turned back, “Good morning,” he greeted as he saw me. 

“Good morning,” I replied while giving a small smile to him. 

“Did you sleep well?” he asked, 

“Really? Are you asking me that?” I said while raising an eyebrow at him, he chuckled and said, 

“Yeah,” 

“Well, I slept fine,” I replied while climbing down the stairs. As we walked towards the dining table, I saw his mom placing the dishes on the table. 

“Good morning,” She greeted as she saw us walking towards the table, 

“Good morning, Mom,” Blade replied, 

“Good morning, Miss Gatlin,” I greeted back, 

“Don’t be so formal dear, You can call me Lillith,” she smiled while sitting beside her husband, he was smiling at his wife lovingly. They looked like someone madly in love, such a lovely couple. 

A butler walked in and began serving everyone, Dakota walked in and sat beside me. I tried my best to avoid him but the heat that was radiating from him was making it impossible. After having breakfast Blade and I began walking outside towards his car, I could feel Dakota’s eyes on me as he followed us behind quietly, I climbed in the back while Blade and Dakota sat in the front seat. 

The drive to the college was quiet, I kept staring at the window while my mind kept wandering at the last night's events. I don’t know what to do now, I guess I should convince him to send me back home but how should I? He told me that his father wants me to prove that I will not reveal about them to anyone, How should I prove myself to them? 

Jesus, I wish I hadn’t seen what I saw that night. All this wouldn’t have happened if I just stayed inside my room.

Blade parked the car in the parking lot, I quickly got out and looked around.

“Thank god, no one’s around,” I mumbled while sighing, 

“What?” Blade asked while walking up to me, 

“Nothing, I just don’t want to have everyone’s attention on me but I’m sure walking with you two will definitely gain unnecessary attention,” I asked while staring at him, 

“Oh… but you don’t have any other option though, You will have to stay with us all the time…” Blade replied, I tried to open my mouth tell him that I don’t want to stay with them but Dakota cut me off, 

“Get used to it,” Dakota said while grabbing my hand and pulling me with him. 

“Dakota, what the hell are you doing?” I said while trying to get my hand off his grip but he had an iron-like grip. I glanced back at Blade and saw him chuckling at his brother’s actions. As we walked through the hallway filled with students, I had every single attention on me and Dakota’s hand which was holding mine. 

I wish this ground to open and swallow me whole, God! 

We walked towards my locker and I quickly pulled my hand off his grip and glared at him. I turned my back to him and placed my bag inside my locker, I took the required books and closed the locker before turning to him. 

I sidestepped him and tried walking past him but he grabbed my wrist, “Where do you think you are going?” he demanded, I turned to him with an angry look, “To my class,” I replied in an irritating tone. 

He glared at me and let my hand go, I quickly turned back and began walking faster. 

Jesus, I don’t know how to manage this guy…
