The hallways inside the new Justice Keeper HQ had the same light bulbs they used in starships, broad-spectrum lamps that were meant to simulate daylight. They would wax and wane in intensity, following a schedule that matched the movement of the sun across the sky. Normally, that kind of thing wasn’t necessary in a land-based facility. Because normally, all you would need was some windows and a little natural light. But this place was located deep inside the Umbra.
Two men that Kez didn’t recognize jogged past her. Both wore gray coveralls, which meant they were part of an engineering crew. Most likely, they were here to work on the new data infrastructures. The upper floors of this building still couldn’t connect to the network.
