CHAPTER 8 “I think that’s about everything Hilary,” said Paul Trent as he heaved the last of the nurses’ suitcases up the stairs and into the spare room. It had taken half an hour to unpack the Zephyr, as all the medical equipment had been offloaded first and placed carefully in Hilary’s surgery downstairs. Finally, Trent had brought his and the nurses’ luggage into the house, first depositing his own cases in the sitting room and then attending to the girls’ belongings. “Well done Paul. Now, come and take a seat for ten minutes while I make us all a cup of tea.” Christine Rigby and Patricia Knowles were already in the kitchen and had taken it upon themselves to attend to the business of making tea.
