Helgha sat alone in her cottage trying to stop the tears on the day of Lord Ædmunde"s wedding to Lady Gytha. The villagers all turned out as they had for his first wedding, but Helgha could not bear to see him marry again. Shortly she heard a tapping at the door. She opened it to find Wulfgar standing there. He held his cap in his hand and twisted it, looking at the ground as he did so. Helgha smiled and invited him in.
