Dan had stopped moving.
From where she stood, Anna guessed if he were not dead yet, he soon would be. However, Mael's grip on him slackened with the evil entity's realization of the phenomenon taking place around them. Malevolent yellow eyes fixed on the skies above, dark even though it was hours away from dusk. The thick cumulus promised a storm of extreme ferocity as spidery webs of lightning flashed across the sky.
For the first time since their confrontation with John Malcolm, Anna sensed fear from the errant Celestial. Perhaps understanding what was coming, he uttered a loud bellow that shook the walls of the ruined building. Anna was forced to clap her palms over her ears to protect her eardrums from the deafening roar.
