Chapter 10The Manchester Connection
Sam Gable pulled up in the car park at South Mersey Golf Club. Standing just off the appropriately named Golf Links Road, just outside Birkenhead, in a beautiful setting, the club had spent 2005 celebrating its centenary, and had hosted numerous events and social occasions throughout the year. The clubhouse was impressive and was frequently used for the celebration of weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and so on, a sure sign of the popularity of the location.
“Nice place,” Sam commented as she stepped from the car and pressed the locking button on the key ring.
“My Dad plays golf regularly,” Ginger Devenish said in reply. He's a member at Allerton Manor Golf Club. I must ask him if he's ever played here.”
“Is that where you live, Ginge, in Allerton?”
