Chapter Six
The white stick fell to the linoleum floor with a clatter. Ruhi was surprised it didn't shatter into a million pieces because that's how she felt. Her life, her plans, her future, were now all scattered in pieces by something so small as a little white stick.
There were no lines to count on the stick. No pink or blue colors. This test was digital. It told her in black and white.
She was pregnant.
It had told her twice. She’d brought a two-pack just to be sure. The first one had said the same thing. There was no such thing as a false positive when it came to pregnancy. If the hormones were there, then a baby was in the oven.
