CHAPTER 10
An affair is a curious thing, Peytra thought while she chiseled away at the door. It’d been over a week since their first kiss, and they’d taken to meeting every night since. Sometimes they talked as they did before, only with more openness and connectivity. Sometimes she blindfolded herself in anticipation of the physical closeness that they both deeply craved. Sometimes they held each other in silence just to take comfort in the nearness of one another.
Their days were the same as before. The Duke had his obligations running his lands while Peytra went about working on her art for him.
