##Chapter 16 Good Co-operation

I subconsciously looked at Wayne, just seeing him holding two women in his arms and sneering at me.

I didn't know what Wayne meant. I thought I had irritated him last time when we got separated, but I didn't expect he would come to find me again with such an imposing manner. I didn't know what he wanted to express.

I nodded and asked, "Mr. Wayne, you're looking for me?"

Wayne looked at me calmly with a strange look on his face. The women in his arms also felt the change of his mood, so they stopped flirting.

"Miss Brown..."

"My name is Jo Jo!" I interrupted him and corrected it.

I didn't want anyone to call my real name in Paradise Lost, because I thought I was living a fake life here.

Wayne's eyes became sharp, but I was not scared. I just looked into his eyes straightforwardly.

Amy dragged my clothes to remind me. I turned around and smiled at her.

"Jo Jo, do you really think you're dignified here?" Wayne asked with disdain.

I turned around and sneered at him, "Mr. Wayne, I don't know what kind of person I am in your eyes, but please respect my dignity."

"Dignity?" Wayne burst into laughter. Then he suddenly kicked the table away in front of him and shouted, "Get out of here. All of you!"

I was shocked, turned around, and wanted to leave, but Wayne stopped me, "Jo Jo, you stay here. Everyone else gets out of here."

"Mr. Wayne, Jo Jo doesn't mean it..." Amy wanted to intercede with me.

"f**k off!" Wayne shouted at her.

Amy trembled in fear. I winked at her with an easy look. She hesitated for a while and then finally left.

Now, there were only Wayne and me in the box.

I looked at his sullen face and was a little scared, but I had to be brave.

Wayne stood up and walked to me slowly. He lowered his head to stare at me, and then said, "Jo Jo? You like this name, huh?"

I lowered my head and didn't speak.

I couldn't read his mind anymore. We had a quarrel last time, so I had thought he would never come to me again.

"It surprises me that a dancing girl whose job is seducing and using men also has dignity."

"Wayne Fox!" I shouted at him.

I had a degrading job here, but I had my own hope. I tried to keep my name from being known by anyone, because I hoped that I would get out of here one day and could live a peaceful life. However, my hope was so ridiculous in Wayne's eyes.

"What did you call me?" he stared at me coldly.

"Mr. Wayne," I looked into his eyes, "it's normal that someone like you despises my job. But you know what, I have my own pride, so please don't teach me how to live in this world!"

Anyway, I had offended Wayne. Leopard would come back to take revenge if he knew this. I was doomed, so I didn't have to endure this anymore.

Wayne looked at me coldly. He sat down on the sofa and took out a stack of papers to read. He said, "You have conflicts with Leopard?"

"You spied on me?" I asked in shock.

I didn't expect that a noble man like Wayne would pay so much attention to a nobody like me.

"Do you think I will allow anyone to get close to me?" Wayne put down the papers.

"What else do you know?" I was trembling.

I wasn't ashamed of my origins, but I didn't want to be spied on by anyone, especially an irrelevant man.

"It doesn't matter how much I know. What matters it..." he paused, suddenly dragged me to his arms. I staggered to his arms and could even sense the smell of wine and tobacco on his body, which made me be in a daze.

"I can help you," Wayne said.

I was stunned and didn't know what he meant. I looked at him in shock.

"You wanna defeat Leopard. I can help you. Isn't this just what you want?" Wayne looked at me.

"What are you talking about?" I murmured.

He smiled, looked at me with his sharp eyes, and said in a low voice, "Caroline Brown, from now on, you are my woman."

I thought I was in a dream now.

A rich and noble man suddenly told me that a dancing girl in Paradise Lost was his woman.

He let go of me, and when he did that, his lips swept across my cheek.

I was nervous, so I hurriedly got out of his arms.

"Mr. Wayne, what do you mean?" my voice was trembling.

"Literally." He stood up and patted his suit coat like before, "We are partners now. You wanna defeat Leopard, so do I. Hope we'll have a good co-operation."

After this, he turned around and left.

I looked at his back in a daze, and couldn't react at once.

I took the papers he put there and read it briefly. I was shocked by it. He had made a good investigation. There was even the information about my mother who had abandoned us long ago.

I touched the two words, Jane Perry. That was my mother's name, but I even wasn't sure how long it had been since I met her last time. I even couldn't remember her look.

I put the paper on my chest. I knew it was not only an agreement between Wayne and me, but also a signal indicating that I would no longer live a peaceful life.

I left Paradise Lost with the papers.

I had a white night because Wayne's face appeared in my mind once and once again.

Wayne had messed up my life, but I was not annoyed. For no reasons, I even began to expect a good relationship with him.

Wayne Fox, this magical name gave me a strong will as soon as I thought of it.
