Jeff's POV

"TEMPERANCE!"

The spineless coward roared as I carried Temperance through the portal. Relief washed over me when the portal closed, and we were standing on the balcony of my father's penthouse in New York City. She clung to my neck, and her eyes were drooping.

The pain of severing the bond had taken its toll on her. Even with the medicine we gave her to mask the pain. It still took a lot out of her. My father stumbled towards the door of the penthouse, and Jeremiah rushed outside to help him. "Take her into the spare room. You all are going to need a lot of rest." He told me as he helped my father inside.
