“Nova!” I yell as I watch my mate collapse to the ground. “Did she say the baby is coming?” I say to Fergus.

“I believe she did,” He mumbles.

“What did you do?” I look at the man. “You took Una?”

“It was for everyone’s safety,” Fergus counters. “Look, Azriel Mortem is not the enemy.” He looks at my sister, who is standing behind me. “He comes off as a cold-hearted asshole,” He pauses. “Well, he is a cold-hearted asshole. But he will keep Una safe.”

Nova stirs on the ground, and her eyes flutter open. I can see the pain in them.

“You better get her to the hospital, man,” Fergus mutters.

“Help me get her to the vehicle,” I say.

We bend down and gently lift Nova off the ground. I cradle her in my arms and walk back to the ATV. I gently lay her in the back, with Fergus cradling
