    Nothing had ever made Ari feel more secure than waking up with Adrian. Not only did an aura of comfort seem to  bubble around them, but with his muscular arm coiled across her waist, and his face buried in her hair at the back of her head, she felt completely safe, completely at home. So, for a moment after she woke, she lay there, basking in his delicious scent, snuggling into his warmth.

    And she probably would have stayed like that for a bit longer, but at the first whirring of her phone’s ringtone, her once sleepy eyes shot open. Not wanting to wake Adrian, not knowing how much sleep he still needed, she carefully maneuvered out of his embrace. It was an ugly escape, and her fall to the floor as she slid down the side of the mattress was anything but charming.
