Chapter 10

3542 Words
{Enslee POV} Zader and I got out of the car and joined Rylan and Analia at the bottom of the giant brick staircase that led up to the door. A blonde boy about my age came around the side of the giant building followed by a girl with bright red hair.  “Davian! Carina! It’s so good to see both of you.” said Zader as he held out the keys to his car.  The boy, Davian, smiled, grabbed the keys, and returned the greeting. “Alpha, Beta, Beta Female. It’s very good to have you all home, just in time for Christmas, although we were expecting you back late last night?” His eyes scanned over the others and finally landing on me. “And who’s this?”  “This is your future Luna, Enslee. She’s my mate. We met at the Christmas Ball.” Davian and Carina both instantly smiled and bowed their heads. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Luna Enslee! My name is Davian West, and I am Black Mountain’s head guard. This is my lovely mate, Carina Sullivan. We are at your service.” I smiled at both of them. “Please, just call me Enslee. It’s very nice to meet you both. I look forward to getting to know you better and making new friends.”  I started blushing and realized that I would have to repeat this same action for many months ahead. I didn’t know any of the pack members that I was supposed to lead now. That made me extremely nervous.  Zader pulled me from my thoughts as he took my hand and led me up the stairs. Davian carried our bags behind us, while Carina took the keys and drove the car around the building out of sight. Rylan and Analia were leading the way and opened the massive door to the packhouse.  As we entered into the foyer, I looked around the big room where there were large couches, a huge marble fireplace and a giant flat screen TV. I also saw several windows lining the back wall that looked out over gorgeous rolling hills dotted with cottages and houses that looked like the ones we saw in the car.  Beyond that was a huge mountain surrounded by acres and acres of forest. I guessed that was where the pack name came from. It was beautiful, and I couldn’t wait to let Harley out for a long run in those woods.  We walked into the room, and Analia wrapped her arms around my shoulders stealing me away from my mate. “Okay! Time for the grand tour!!!” she squealed. I nervously looked over my shoulder at Zader who just grinned and gave me a big thumbs up. I narrowed my eyes at him and sent a middle finger flying his way, which made him laugh loudly.  Analia guided me to the right side of the room where a doorway opened up into a commercial-sized kitchen. “So obviously this is the kitchen, and right over here is the dining hall. The dining hall is where we also have pack gatherings…” After an hour I had seen the movie room, recreation room, gym, numerous hangout spots, the pool, guest rooms and boring conference rooms. Analia had taken me past the Gamma floor, since we weren’t sure where the Gammas were or whether they were open for visitors.  “It’s alright. The Gamma floor is nearly identical to the Beta floor, except for my insane interior decorating skills of course!” chirped Analia. We got off the elevator on the 6th floor, where Analia led me out into a large living area.  The room was decorated with subtle grey tones and blue accents. There was a large grey sectional with a gorgeous teal rug in front of a fireplace that resembled the one I saw when I first came in. There was a large TV above the mantel. She lead me to the left side of the fireplace where the doorway opened up into a formal dining room with a table that could seat 10 people.  We made our way into the kitchen that had double ovens, a huge refrigerator and a nice electric stovetop with six burners. My mouth dropped.  “Oh my goddess! This is a dream kitchen. I loved the kitchen downstairs, and I will most definitely be utilizing it. But I would love to have this one, it’s more private for the late night snack cravings.” Analia laughed and wrapped her arm around my waist. “Honey, you don’t know anything. Wait till you see the kitchen on the seventh floor.” “What’s the seventh floor?” I asked. “Your floor, well yours and the Alpha’s of course.”  My eyes bugged out of my head, and I grinned really wide. I guess I should have realized that the Alpha and Luna had their own floor since the Betas and Gammas do.  After finishing the tour of the master bedroom and 6 other bedrooms, we ended up back in the living room.  “When do you think I will be able to meet the Gamma and Gamma Female?” I asked Analia.  “Well honestly, you’re the Luna. You could just go walk through their front door right now if you wanted to. You and Zader are the only two allowed to enter any floor at any time that you want. But I assume they are off somewhere doing something VERY important or else they wouldn’t have missed welcoming home their Alpha.” Her voice had a teasing tone that insinuated whatever they were doing was s****l. I just giggled and started blushing furiously. A few moments later, Rylan walked through the front door.  “Good evening Luna. I didn’t expect to see you here. Can I help you ladies with anything?” he bowed his head slightly in my direction.  “Please, call me Enslee. Analia was just showing me the Beta floor! I really should get out of your hair. I’m sure Zader is looking for me.” Rylan smiled and nodded is head. “You’re no bother to us Luna--I mean Enslee. But I did just leave your mate’s office, and he is getting awful lonesome for you I think. You should be able to find him upstairs.” Rylan gave me a sly smile that I rolled my eyes at. “Thank you Analia for showing me the packhouse. I am sure that it will take me a few weeks to get used to, but I appreciate the general knowledge of course. Goodnight to both of you. And again, thank you for helping Zader rescue me.” They both hugged me and bid me goodnight as well. I walked through the front door back to the elevator and got on. After a few seconds I was getting off on the seventh floor, and the scent of fresh rain overwhelmed my senses.   I smiled to myself and opened the front door. I peeked inside to a huge living room, even bigger than Analia’s living room. I didn’t see anyone in the room, so I walked in. I casually looked around the room, which was very manly.  The couch was brown leather and very faded. The walls were a dark black, and the rug was also black. The TV was playing a football game at an alarmingly high sound level. I grabbed the remote and turned it off.  I noticed that the fireplace was double-sided allowing you to see into the formal dining area from the living room. I walked around the rock faced chimney that separated the two areas and ran my hand along the mahogany table that seated 12.  It was clear that Zader hardly used the table, since there was dust on my fingers as I inspected them. I rolled my eyes and giggled at that. I would have to change that for sure. I wandered into the kitchen and gasped.  Analia was right. My kitchen made hers look like a joke. There was a giant fridge against the far wall. Next to it was the farmhouse sized sink with a wide window that overlooked the front entrance of the packhouse. There was a huge stovetop with a stainless steel vent hood overhead, along with a double oven. I could tell that the top one had convection abilities as well.  I knew I would be spending way too much time in here, and I couldn’t wait. I opened the fridge to see if there was an easy  snack to grab, but I was quickly disappointed. The only things in there were Gatorade, beer and water. I huffed and closed the door.  I made my way back down the hallway past the living room in the direction of what I assumed were the bedrooms. I walked past one room that held a pool table, a large TV with gaming consoles and a ping pong table. The next room was a small private gym that had weight lifting equipment, a treadmill and other exercise machines. I saw a sliver of light at the end of the dark hallway and assumed that must be the master bedroom where Zader was. I passed an additional six bedrooms on my way down the hall, which must be the extra bedrooms.  I slowly nudged the door open to a giant California king sized bed on the far wall. To the left of the bed was two doors. On the wall across from the foot of the bed was a mounted TV. On the right side of the room was a sitting area with a couch and two armchairs in front of another double sided fireplace. I could see that the other side was the bathroom. As I edged further into the room, I could hear water running and the smell of fresh rain grew stronger. I ran my finger along the concrete chimney of the fireplace as I rounded the corner into the bathroom. There was gorgeous double vanity with a huge mirror in front of the claw footed tub.  There was a small pocket door, which I assumed hid the toilet. As I turned back toward my left I saw Zader standing in the glass shower completely and utterly naked. I squealed and covered my eyes with my hands.  “What the f**k?!?!” I heard Zader say, and then there was a crash and a loud bang. I heard the water shut off as I blindly tried to stumble my way out of the bathroom.  I blindly fell into the bedroom area trying to get on the other side of the fireplace. I kept my hands over my face with my eyes tightly shut. I simply sat on the floor while Zader opened the shower door. I could hear his feet patter across the tile floor toward the vanity.  After a few moments I felt a wet hand on my forearm. “It’s okay. I am covered up now.” I took my hands away and opened my eyes. Zader was standing in front of me with a sheepish look on his face. He was shirtless, but he had a bath towel around his waist covering his lower half. My eyes drifted downward from his face and roamed over his torso.  My mouth slowly dropped as I saw just how chiseled he was. He boasted an impressive 8 pack with a deep cut V around his pelvis. His biceps and pecs were very profound as well. I finally looked back up at his eyes, which were staring straight back at me.  I immediately started blushing and quickly looked toward the floor. “It’s okay baby. You don’t have to be embarrassed. My body is yours. You can look at it if you want to. You can do whatever you want with it.” “Um, well. Thank you, but I think I would be more comfortable if we remained fully dressed for now.” I stuttered. I grew up as a packhouse slave. I never had any interactions with boys or men in that way. I had never seen a naked man or had s*x of any kind, until a few nights ago.  I knew I was certainly beginning to trust Zader more and more, but I also wasn’t ready to let down my walls for that area. Seeing him half-naked certainly aroused me and turned me on, but it also scared me. I didn’t want that interaction just yet, especially after what happened the other night.  “Okay baby, I understand. Just a moment, and I will be back.” I kept my eyes glued to the carpet, but I could hear a dip in Zader’s voice. I felt bad for not reciprocating his interest in s****l and physical contact, but I had to trust that he would wait until I was ready.  {Zader POV} I was really sad that she was so scared of me. I knew she was going to have to have time, and that was okay. I just wanted her to know that I wouldn't force or pressure her into anything.  I made my way into my closet across the room and shut the door behind me. I dropped the towel on the floor and quickly grabbed a white t-shirt, boxers and grey sweatpants. After I was dressed, I walked back into the bedroom.  Enslee had stood up at this point and was looking at the photos on the dresser underneath the TV. “Who is this?” she asked curiously.  I came up behind her and looked over her shoulder to look at who she was pointing to. “That is my father. This photo was taken a few months before he died. We were celebrating my 18th birthday.” I saw her body stiffen when I said that he was dead. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know, or else I wouldn’t have asked.” she bowed her head and sighed deeply.  “It’s okay sweetheart. You were going to have to find out sooner or later.” I reached out to put a hand on her shoulder, but she quickly jumped and moved away.  “I’m..I didn’t...I am sorry, I don’t know why I am so jumpy.” she quickly apologized and lowered her head once more. My heart broke for the millionth time, but I knew it wouldn’t be the last. “It’s okay. I understand why you’re skittish. I know it’ll take time to feel completely comfortable around me, especially after what you’ve gone through. I will be careful next time and move slowly. No need to apologize. We have to take it one day at a time and figure out what triggers you so I don’t do those things. It’s going to take time, but we will get through this. I’ve got your back baby.” She stood there looking at me silently and a single tear slipped from her eye. I frantically tried to figure out what was wrong.  “What is it? Did I say something wrong? I am so so…” I stopped when she started laughing suddenly.  “No, no, you didn’t do anything wrong. That was a happy tear. I am overwhelmed by your love for me.” She popped her hand over her mouth. “Oh I didn’t mean to say that you love me. I shouldn’t have implied that so early on.” Now it was my turn to laugh. “Baby, I do love you. I loved you the moment I found you, and it’s only grown since then. It’s okay, you don’t have to say it back yet. I know it’s going to be different for you.”  She smiled and started biting her inner lip. That was her telltale sign that she had something to say but was too nervous to do so. “What is it baby? What are you wanting to say?” She yawned involuntarily and started blushing. “I am so sorry, I guess my body has its own way of telling you what I was trying to say. I am pretty tired if I am being honest. I’ve never flown before, so I guess it took it out of me.” I smiled and nodded. “Of course. Flying does take a lot of energy, even if you’ve done it multiple times before. You can definitely go to bed whenever you’re ready.” I motioned toward the bedside, where she simply turned and looked at it. “Is there something wrong?” She quickly shook her head no. “No, I just don’t really own anything in the way of pajamas. I honestly don’t know what to change into for bed.”  I nervously looked around for a correct answer, but I couldn’t seem to find my words. Enslee hadn’t had the chance to go to shopping with Analia yet. “Well, I haven’t much in the way of women’s clothing either, but I do have a t-shirt that will certainly be too big. I can give you sweatpants or basketball shorts if you want too.” She smiled at me and nodded. “I would love a t-shirt, but you don’t have to worry about the shorts or sweatpants. I would probably get too hot knowing me.” I walked back towards my closet and grabbed an old college t-shirt that I loved to wear. She took it from me and looked around the room and avoided eye contact with me.  “You can go into your closet to change until you’re comfortable with me.” She gave me a look of relief and walked over to the other door. I opened it for her and flipped on the light. She audibly gasped and looked around the room. Each of us had our own walk in closet.  There were shelves and hanging rods lining the walls with a fair sized stool in the middle of the room. In the back of the room was a jewelry chest and shelves for shoes. “This is all mine?” I watched as Enslee ran her finger along one of the long shelves in awe. “Yes baby. This is all yours. Don’t worry we will buy more than enough clothes to fill all of this space.” She looked at me and smiled. “Thank you. I have never ever had this much in my life.” I smiled back at her and left the room closing the door behind me. I walked over to the bed and turned back the covers on the right side. I always sleep on the left, so I knew that would be Enslee’s spot. She came out of the closet a moment later with only my t-shirt on. It came down to about mid-thigh and looked sexy as hell on her. My d**k instantly got hard and Arlo fought to get to the surface.  She started blushing, and I looked down at the floor. “Uh, you can sleep here on this side if you’d like.”  She walked around to join me on the right side of the bed. I stepped back to give her space so she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable, and she climbed into the bed timidly. She pulled the comforter up to her chin and smiled at me. I walked around to my side of the bed and started to pull the blanket back. I could hear her heartbeat increase and she had a hitch in her breath. I looked up and she was staring at me with wide eyes.  “What’s wrong?” She just eyed me up and down with an alarmed expression. I backed away from the bed, and I could hear her heart rate slow slightly. “I can sleep somewhere else baby. Would that make you more comfortable?” She nodded and started blushing profusely. I quickly threw the covers back up on my side and backed farther away. “Okay baby. That’s no problem. I will go down the hall to another bedroom. Is it okay if I leave to door open so I can hear you if you need me? The bedrooms are soundproofed.” “Yes, that’s fine. Um, goodnight.” I turned just before leaving the doorway and flipped off the overhead light. “Goodnight sweetheart.”
