After another three hours, Dr. Stevens came out of the double doors. Brett and I both rushed to him for updates on our mates.
“Alpha, Gamma, we’ve finished surgery on both of them. Gamma Female Renley will be just fine. She’ll wake up within the hour from the anesthesia. She’ll need to stay in the hospital for about a week while her wounds heal.”
Brett smiled and hugged Dr. Stevens. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” He was like a little kid on Christmas morning. His joy was contagious. I smiled and slapped him on the back in a hug.
“When can I see her?” Dr. Stevens told him where her recovery room was, and Brett went that way immediately.
Dr. Stevens turned to me after Brett left and put one hand on my shoulder. “You have a strong mate. She pulled through the surgery.
