Elijah POV
As we all begin to file out of the room I gently pull Bella aside.
“What’s up?” She asks.
“So, I um, didn’t know if I should ask you if you wanted to come with us while we talked to your step mom and brother …” I begin ungracefully. She frowns and sighs.
“Eli, I know that you are probably going to do things that I don’t want to know about. Neither of them are family to me. Do what you need just don’t talk to me about it after. Okay?” I stare at her. How can someone who just learned everything she has learned be this calm and okay? I wrap her in a tight hug, holding her little body against mine.
“You're amazing, you know that?” I whisper in her ear. She grins widely at me.
“I know,” she winks, “and don’t you forget it.” She places a chaste kiss on my lip
