By the time Lillian and Claude returned to the ballroom, having fixed their appearances, the gala was winding down.
No one knew where the Kent couple had disappeared to, but no one dared ask.
After touching up her makeup, Lillian pushed Claude back into the hall. Unsurprisingly, they were once again swarmed by guests.
