"Lillian, are you feeling better?"

After Melissa inquired about Lillian's well-being, she kept signaling Claude with her eyes, urging him to say something. Claude pretended not to notice until his grandmother pinched his arm.
"Eat more if you're feeling better."
Lillian pretended not to hear him, finishing her meal with no appetite.
"I'm full. I'll go back to my room and rest. If you will excuse me."
However, when Lillian reached the guest room after climbing the stairs, she found Claude waiting at the door.
He must have left the dining table after she did so that he could get here first by elevator.
