Fighting for justice

According to the crime labs website in 2012 the turn around rate for DNA results was 35 days. On Saturday January 24, 2012, Billy's mother, Edith received a copy of a Court Order from Minton, signed by Blanton, ordering the release of Billy's clothes from the IN. State Police. The lady at the ISP in Jasper told Edith that Det. Magill has to sign his name before they can release the clothes. As of yet, Magill hasn't answered the woman's text. Edith called the ISP yesterday and today and I called them today too. They say that Magill Still hasn't answered the text. I bet if it was the Gehl's he would drive to their house to see what they wanted. January 30, 2012, At Herman's hearing today, Herman's attorney argued that Herman thinks his sentence of 4 yrs. should be reduced to 3 yrs. Prosecutor Minton argued that the Court's sentence of 4 yrs. was the right one and should Not be reduced. Judge Lopp is taking their arguments into consideration. Minton is supposed to contact us once Judge Lopp makes his decision. Minton doesn't expect the sentence to be reduced. Herman's next hearing for his DUI's, Petition to Revoke Probation, and Habitual Substance Offender is set for April 14, 2012 at 1pm. at English, and his Trial date is set for May 23, 2012 at 1pm also, at English Courthouse. February 1, 2012, it has been almost two weeks since Edith got a copy of a Court Order from Minton, signed by Judge Blanton, ordering that the clothes Billy was killed in, be returned to Edith. As of yet, Detective MaGill hasn't seen fit to sign the forms he needs to sign before the clothes can be released. I guess a Court Order doesn't mean any more to MaGill than the Indiana Castle Law means to Minton. February 2,2012, Edith got a call today from the ISP in Jasper saying we can pick up Billy's clothes (the ones he was killed in) tomorrow. The Coroners report says he was wearing heavy tan Coveralls, a grey sweatshirt, a blue shirt, and two white t-shirts. That's 5 items. But, they said they are only releasing 4 of them because that's what the Court Order says. And they are right, it does say that. So, now the family needs to see which one they aren't going to give them and then find out why the Court Order didn't say to release them all.  February 4, 2012, They got everything back except for one of the white t-shirts. The family is wondering why that is? Unless Billy was wearing only One white t-shirt and Not two like the Dr. who did the Autopsy put in his report. And IF the Dr. could make a mistake like incorrectly, numbering, labeling and recording how many articles of clothing Billy was wearing when he was shot. Then everyone else is wondering what Other mistakes the examining Dr. could have made. May 14, 2012, Ok, here's what happened at Herman's hearing for Probation Violation. His attorney doesn't think Herman should have any more time added to his sentence. Minton thinks Herman should have the 176 days that were suspended back in 2010 when Herman was first put on Probation for attacking Billy, should be added to Herman's time. Herman wanted to make a statement. It went something like this.....Waaaa, Waaaa, Waaaa, poor me, Waaa, Waaa, Waaa, I'm a good father, Waaa, Waaa, f*****g Waaa. Ok, that's what the back of my mind heard. This is what he said. He talked about how he didn't go up there looking for trouble. He talked about how he broke the restraining orders every week in one way or another. He said he was a good father. He said that he and his family don't get to see his son anymore. He said that now that he isn't involved in his son's life, that his son's grades have dropped and that his son is not in any activities like baseball or anything else now. He kept saying how when he went up to Billy's trailer, he wasn't looking for trouble. My thoughts are: That son-of-a-b***h admitted, in court and under oath, to repeatedly violating the restraining orders and his probation. Why wasn't he charged with multiple counts of violating the restraining orders and his probation, Not just the time it led to Billy's death? In his previous trial, he admitted to the same things, plus, he admitted to "driving himself to the Jasper State Police Post at least 5 times." He DOESN'T and DIDN'T have a driver's license. So, what this means is that Herman Gehl has NO regard for the law in any way. He thinks he can do just about anything and get nothing, or very little, done to him. And so far, for lack of a Murder charge, he is doing it.  The judge is supposed to review everything and let Minton and Herman's attorney know what he decides on the Probation Violation. Minton told us that if the judge gives Herman the additional 176 days, with "good behavior", Herman will only have to do half of it. GOOD BEHAVIOR? Herman was kicked out of Orange Co. Jail and sent to Lawrence Co. for being the Asshole that he is. He should get NO credit for Good Behavior.
