It's been almost two years since Billy Joe was shot and murdered in his own home in broad daylight, by two brothers, and there is still no justice being served with all the lies coming out of the prosecutor and detectives mouths, so the family and friends of Billy don't know what to believe. The family continues to try to bring Billy's murderers to justice, but everywhere they turn there is a roadblock, and they are met with resistance.
Here's an update on Billy's murder.
On Aug. 20th the family got Billy's phone released to them from the Jasper State Police post, after they had to get a warrant for it. They have had it in their possession since the day I, Freddy, found it on Jan. 2, 2011, in the heat vent of Billy's trailer where he was shot. The cell phone was a flip type, and was broken in half at the hinge.
Once the phone was back in Our hands, I took Ernie's (Billy's dad) old phone (that was identical to Bill's broken phone) and took it apart. I replaced the motherboard (the key pad part) from Ernie's phone with the one in Billy's broken cell phone. Now it was a complete phone again. I turned it on and it showed me Billy's saved pictures, his missed calls, his incoming and outgoing calls and his contact list. I did this while sitting at my computer desk using only two small screwdrivers. However, it didn't show the call that even Minton and Magill both admitted were on Billy's cell phone records. The one from Billy's father-in-law, warning him that the Gehl brothers were in town. I think, after killing Billy, the Gehl's used Billy's cell phone to call someone for help. Who would they call? Well, let's see, their uncle was a Paoli Police Officer at the time and their father was Paoli's Deputy Police Chief at the time. Hummmmm????? WHO would they have called? They used Billy's cell phone to call or text someone then deleted the call or text from Billy's phone, then broke Billy's phone and tossed it into the heat vent in the floor of the trailer. These calls or texts are on Billy's cell phone records. The very records that Prosecutor Minton REFUSES to show us.
Back in March of 2011 we had a meeting with Prosecutor Minton and Indiana State Police Detective Rick Magill. In this meeting they told us that they couldn't retrieve Any information from Billy's cell phone because of "the way it was broken". And yet, I did. So Minton and Magil, wanted us to believe that their lab, with all of their fancy high tech machines couldn't retrieve ANY INFORMATION from Billy's cell phone. Yet, I was able to do it sitting at home.
These two ASSHOLES have LIED to us over and over since Billy's Murder. They said that Verizon doesn't keep ANY records of incoming or outgoing text messages. LIE.
They said that they couldn't retrieve ANY information from Billy's broken cell phone because of the WAY it was broken. LIE
They have told us every time we asked about Billy's cell phone that "It is still in the lab". LIE, LIE, LIE. I have a paper that came with the warrant to release Billy's phone that shows that the Cell phone was RETURNED FROM THE LAB on Feb. 4, 2011. One month and two days after I found it and Det. Henderson took possession of it.
It is everyone in the familys opinion, and a growing number of others, that Our Prosecutor, Kelly Minton and a certain number of police officers are involved in covering up a MURDER. Probably because they are covering their own asses for some reason.
October 2012:
Here's a little update on Billy's murder. After calling Judges, Lawyers and anyone else we could think of and bugging the crap out of Prosecutor Minton, we finally got a Warrant for the release of Billy's broken cell phone that I found on Jan. 2, 2011, in the heat vent of his trailer, after he was shot on Nov. 24, 2010. The warrant says the cell phone is to be released to Billy's mother, Edith. Now, we are waiting for the ISP, Jasper post, to get the paperwork together and for Det. Magill to sign the papers. When Edith got a copy of the Warrant in the mail, last week, Freddy noticed that the last page was a copy of the paper that he had signed for Det. Henderson, on the day he found Billy's phone. It showed where Freddy signed it on Jan. 2, 2011 and where Det, Henderson took possession of the cell phone. It also showed where it was signed by a G. Greene (she's the lady over the evidence room at the Jasper State Police Post) She signed it on Jan. 6, 2011. The paper, also, shows where the cell phone was delivered to the Evansville Crime Lab, also, on Jan. 6, 2011 and signed by someone that the family can't make out their name. Now, here's the part that the family found interesting. The last date on the paper is Feb. 4, 2011, and in the next blank it says, "returned from lab", then it is signed by G. Greene. That means that Billy's cell phone was out of the Evansville lab and back in the evidence room at the Jasper State Police Post as of Feb. 4, 2011. Why does everyone find this interesting? Because, on March 21, 2011 at 2:45pm, Edith and Freddy had a meeting with Prosecutor Minton and ISP Det. Magill. In this meeting, they kept telling them that Billy's phone was "still in the lab". On April 27, 2011 at 10am, they had another meeting with Prosecutor Minton and ISP Det. Magill. Again, they were saying that the phone was "still in the lab". Every time they could catch Minton, they got, "it's still in the lab". Every time Edith would call Minton, she got, "it's still in the lab". Now, they have proof that since Feb. 4, 2011, they have been lying through their teeth to them. Little by little the cover is being kicked off of this cover-up.
