The sun was setting by the time we made it out onto the deck. Lanterns were lit and the crew was laughing and some music was playing. We looked at each other in amusement and then went in search of food. Scar was dancing with two other girls and she grinned when she saw us. "Cal, Izzy! Come meet the crew!" She danced her way over to us and grabbed our hands. We giggled as she brought us to the other girls. "Cal, Izzy, this is Merina and Korra, Merina is in charge of the food and Korra is in charge of our storage." The girls laughed a hello and handed us each a mug. I was trying to take a swig when Scar swung us around to meet someone else. "You girls already know Seamus, Mack, Charles, and Finnegan. Finnegan and Charles are in charge of the heavy stuff, Seamus helps in the kitchen and Mack helps navigate." They raised their mugs at us with grins on their faces. "We have our shady artists over in the corner here, Jack and his twin sister Jemma. They usually do the stealth missions." We said hello and they greeted us with hugs. "You'll meet the rest of our family later. But for now you know Killian and I. Our littlest sister is Sinara, baby brother is Kieran and -" Killian cut her off. "I think that may be a bit much to take in all at once Scar." He smiled at her. "Ooops. Sorry!" She smiled and danced back to Merina and Korra. We giggled a bit. "You girls hungry?"He said. "Starving!" Izzy said. He laughed. "Come on then. Let's get some grub in you." We followed him to the kitchen where food was laid out on one of the longer tables. "Grab whatever you want. Tonight we celebrate. We have a bit of a trip before we meet up with your siblings at the Den." Izzy and I were stuffing our faces with food. He chuckled and went outside. Izzy nudged me with her elbow. "What?" she pointed at killian. "Go." she smiled at me mischievously. "You suck." I said. I left my mug and followed his direction. He was leaning against the railing looking out at the sunset. I perched on top of it, sitting with my ankles crossed and my feet swaying slightly. Killian's dark wavy hair was flowing in the breeze, the beads clanking together. My still damp hair was cascading in waves down my back, a few strands floating in the wind. "Thank you for today." I said quietly. Killian turned his blue eyes on me. "You're welcome." A light silence crept over us. Killian turned and leaned against the railing on his back. "Cal I'm sorry you had to - " I cut him off. "Don't worry about it. It was bound to happen at some point, at least it happened sooner rather than later. The only thing I regret is that he's probably still alive and will most likely want revenge on me." "Us." I looked up, "What?" I said. Killian smiled "I said Us. He'll want revenge on us. You're not in this alone. Besides, as your betrothed, it is my job to make sure you stay safe." He chuckled the last part. I raised an eyebrow with a smirk. He put his hands up and said "Kidding, just kidding. You don't need me to keep you safe." He put his arms down and I playfully shoved him. He laughed and leaned back again, this time putting his elbows on the rail as well, his arm brushing my thigh ever so lightly. "Killian, are you really okay with us being betrothed? I mean you only just met me a few days ago." He grinned and said "I like you Cal. You ask the hard hitting questions when most people would run around in circles just to ask. I've known your family for years. The lot of them are like an extension of my own. You are the feistiest of the bunch which is incredibly adorable for how tiny you are." I guffawed at him and he threw his head back and laughed. "Tiny? I'm barely shorter than you!" Something flashed in his eyes and he stood up and next thing i knew he was right in front of me. He put his arms on either side of me on the railing and looked down at me. His blue eyes searching for something. "Barely? Sweetheart you're at least a foot shorter than me." He challenged me. I straightened my back and my face was mere inches from his. I narrowed my eyes at him and leaned closer until i could feel his breath on my lips. "Yeah but i'm not a freakishly tall giant like yourself." I said. His lips spread in a grin. "So you admit you're short?" His warm breath on my skin sent shivers down my body. "Never." I breathed, issuing a challenge of my own. His smile grew bigger as I leaned in and placed my lips on his. His lips sent a tingle through my body and he moved his against mine until I welcomed him in. He groaned slightly and his hand came to cup the side of my face, with the back of his fingers locked in my hair and his thumb slowly caressing the side of my face. I moved my hands up to cup his face, they glided over his stubble until i found them locked behind his head, fidgeting with one of the beads in his hair. His other arm wrapped around my waist, pulling us closer together. His warmth spread through me and I felt my face grow hot. He growled a bit when i carefully nipped at his bottom lip. He responded by kissing me with more ferocity. By now we were locked in an embrace chest to chest, i had unlocked my ankles and wrapped them around his waist. His fingers had started trailing lightly across my shoulders sending bolts throughout my body. He pulled back slowly breathing heavily. "I don't want to rush you Cal." He said. I grunted a response and pulled him back down. He chuckled against my mouth and his hands gripped my thighs. His hands trailed down to the space of my legs just under my ass. He lifted me up, my legs still wrapped around him. Startled I locked my arms around his neck again. He laughed a guttural laugh. He leaned me back against the railing and we continued our kiss. The breeze shifted and he pulled me closer if that was even possible. We broke the kiss and he set his chin on my shoulder. "A beautiful night for a beautiful woman." He said, placing a kiss on my neck. I smiled and looked at the sky. It was almost completely dark. Purple and red highlights throughout the sky leading to a deep blue satin sky. A commotion tore us from our moment in time. We turned our heads at the noise and we saw Izzy and Scar come racing towards us. Alarmed we broke apart. "What's going on?" I said. "We have a problem. Killian do you remember when Sinara was born? That flash of light on the horizon?" Scar said. Something flashed in his blue eyes. "Not possible." He growled. I hopped down from the railing as he climbed onto one of the side nets and up to the lookout nest. I questioningly looked at Scar. "When our little sister Sinara was born, she was chosen as a Sea Witch and there was a massive flare of light across the sky. Almost like a red explosion. It started with a line of light to the sky which disappeared after a few minutes. Then the explosion." I glanced up at Killian. I pulled my feet up to the railing and jumped onto the ropes and followed him up. He grabbed my arm and helped me up. I looked out with him to the sky and saw a blast of light that looked like fire reaching to the heavens. The sight turned the dark sky hues of red and orange. "Killian, What is going on?" I said as I put my hand on his arm. "Another Sea Witch has been chosen. That does not bode well for us my dear." He said, turning to look at me with panicking eyes.
