I lay on the couch, my eyes closed, and my body relaxed. But despite my exhaustion, my mind refused to shut off. Thoughts of Luca kept creeping into my head, and I couldn't help but smile to myself. The way he smiled, with his whole face lighting up, was just infectious. And the way he did everything with such care and attention to detail, from making tea to helping Lily with her homework, was just so endearing.
I thought about the way he had taken care of me earlier that day, bringing me tea and toast, and just being there for me when I needed him. It was such a small thing, but it had meant so much to me.
