Charmaine's POV
I sink into my plush bed, feeling the softness envelop me. I'm exhausted, both physically and mentally. The events of the past few days have taken a toll on me, and I'm grateful for the solitude of my room. I close my eyes, letting out a deep sigh, and allow myself to relax.
The silence of the house is a welcome respite from the chaos that's been swirling around me. I'm thankful that Lily is in school, safely tucked away in her classroom, learning and growing. I think about her school bus that came this morning, and how I'm considering allowing her to take the afternoon bus as well. It would be a huge relief for me, freeing up some much-needed time to focus on myself.
