Marcus's POV
Charmaine rushes over to us, a look of relief washing over her face. "Lilyyy!" she exclaims, sweeping our daughter into a tight hug. Lily wraps her arms around her mother's neck, holding on tight. Charmaine pulls back, examining Lily's face. "I've been looking all over for you, where have you been?" she asks, her voice filled with a mix of concern and amusement.
Lily giggles, clearly happy to see her mother. Charmaine smiles, hugging her again. "Thanks for everything," she says, turning to me. "I better be going." I nod, feeling a pang of disappointment. I didn't want the day to end so soon. I was hoping to spend more time with Lily, to get to know her better. But Charmaine seems eager to leave, and I don't want to push her.
I offer to escort her, but Charmaine waves me off
