Marcus's POV I slid into the plush leather seat of my car, the soft glow of the dashboard lights illuminating my face. My driver, a stoic man with a perpetual scowl, greeted me with a nod before pulling out of the driveway. "Where to, sir?" he asked, his voice low and gravelly. "Charmaine's place," I replied, my eyes narrowing in thought. I had already sent some spies to check if she was alone in the house, and the report had come back positive. She was alone, and that's exactly how I wanted it. I didn't need anyone confusing my plan, anyone who might try to intervene or persuade Charmaine to see things differently.
