Charmaine's POV
I walked through the front door, dropping my purse and keys on the counter. And that's when I saw them - Lily and Luca, sitting on the couch, both of them grinning from ear to ear. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, seeing that they were both safe and sound.
Lily jumped up from the couch, bouncing over to me with excitement. "Mommy, Mommy! Guess what happened today?" she squealed, hardly able to contain herself.
I smiled, dropping down to one knee to give her a hug. "Tell me, sweetie," I said, my curiosity piqued.
Lily took a deep breath, launching into a long, rambling story about her day with Luca. "So, Luca took me to school, and we had a special Father's Day celebration," she began. "And Luca got me cotton candy, and I rubbed it all over Jenny's face!" Lily giggl
