They’re all soaking in the sunlight out on the deck. They’re just laying there and calling out shapes of the clouds. “That one looks like a starfish.” Mandy says as she points at the sky. “And that one looks like a piranha.” Aki also says, pointing to the sky.
They all keep naming them as they drift past all of the clouds. Suddenly they start hearing splatters of water on the side of the boat. They all get up and go to each side to see what was happening. They didn’t see anything. They keep looking around to see if they can find something, anything.
Eric decides to go to the wheel room. He looks out the window towards the front of the boat and notices creatures going in circles in the water. He goes out onto the dock and goes around to the front of the boat. Mandy, Aki, and Leeroy all following him. They’re all looking forward and see the creatures too. “What the hell is all of that?” Aki asks. As soon as he finished speaking, something scratched up against the side of the boat. They all go to that side to see what it was.
“That’s a Liopleurodon. They weigh more than 3,500 pounds and grow greater than 30 feet. Their jaws are enormous, and they have lots of teeth. They usually live in the shallow waters. They must have migrated to the deep sea or something over the years.”
“What should we do?” Eric asks. “Honestly, we can go through or around them. If we don’t attack, they wont attack. But if we encounter their cousin, the Mosasaurus, then we should be worried.” Leeroy replies. They all remain on the dock except for Eric. He went back to the wheel room to guide the boat through them. It was too late to go around. They were already too close. But he’s watching all sides of the boat. Just to make sure that none of them try to attack.
They keep going. They see about 50 total. They’re all just going in circles. Like they’re guarding something below them. About ten minutes pass by and they’re finally through the creatures. Eric walks out of the wheel room and back onto the dock with his friends. “Well, that was just too easy.” He says. “I agree. It was too easy. There was so many of them. They could have taken our boat down easily. But they didn’t.” Mandy says. “Well, yeah. Because they’re not vicious creatures unless something swims near them. Then of course they’re going to eat it, but they know when to attack and when not to attack.” Leeroy says as he walks back to the living area.
They all finally go back to the living area to rest a little bit except for Mandy. She stayed out on the dock and laid on the bench. Looking up at the sky. She notices that the sky started to get darker like it was about to rain. So, she decided to head inside. As she was walking towards the living area, something enormous jumps out of the water right next to the boat. Splashing Mandy with water, drenching her. She looks over the side to see what it was. “Oh, it looks like the creature from earlier. I think we’re good.” She thinks to herself.
She walks inside and everybody notices how wet she is. “What the hell happened to you? Did you go for a swim?” Eric asks while laughing. “No, one of the creatures from earlier jumped out of the water so close that it splashed me. I guess it followed us.” Mandy replies as she goes to grab a towel. “It jumped… out of the water?” Leeroy asks. “The Liopleurodon doesn’t jump out of the water. Did it have any colleagues with it?” He asks. “Um, n. I didn’t see any anyways.” She replies.
“This isn’t good… this isn’t good at all.” Leeroy says pulling his hair. “It’s the cousin of the Liopleurodon’s. The ones you don’t want to encounter. It’s called the Mosasaurus. It could take this whole boat down itself and it will too. It goes after anything that moves.” He continues.
The creature jumps out of the water again. So close that it made the boat tip over a little bit. Knocking everybody off of their feet. Then it jumps out again. Then again, and again. Everybody runs out to the dock with their guns to try and shoot it, but the creature jumped too fast for the bullets to be able to penetrate it. Then it jumps out one last time, but this time it actually hits the front dock. Making the back dock fly up in the air. Throwing Mandy and her friends off of the boat, into the dark cold ocean.
Now they’re in the water with the deadliest creature in the sea. They all start to hold hands. To make sure nobody drifted away from the group and so that they can work together to get back to the boat.
It swims around them, in circles. Like its playing with them or something. “We have to get to the boat. Now.” Aki says. “What if it darts after us while we swim?” Mandy asks. “Let’s just wait for it to swim away. It’s the best thing we can do.” Leeroy says.
Hours pass. The creatures still swimming near and around them. They’re lost on what to do. Meanwhile the boat is drifting farther and farther away and they’re in the middle of The Bermuda. The worst place to be.
