The rest of the crew make it to the top. “Where’s Leeroy!?” Mandy screams. “I don’t know! All I remember is him stabbing the Kraken! Then he just disappeared!” Eric yells back. “The Kraken probably had a last nerve movement before completely dying.” Aki says in a sappy tone. “Meaning?” Mandy asks. “He either ate him or threw him somewhere he can’t swim back from. He’s probably dead if I’m being honest.” Aki says. “No, he can’t be dead… he just… he can’t be. We can’t lose him a second time!” Mandy yells. “Mandy! I’m sorry but he is gone. For good this time. We should have known at least one of us was going to die facing this thing. It was just a matter of who!” Aki yells back.
Right when he says that, the water starts rumbling again. “Oh no. Not again!” Mandy screams. “I thought it was dead! Leeroy wasted his life for nothing!” She continues.
The water keeps rumbling and then a bubble starts to form around each of them. “What the hell is this?” Eric asks. “It’s the bubbles that the Gods warned us about. It’s the government. They’re taking us to the city. Be prepared for anything.” Mandy says.
The bubble starts pulling them underwater. So deep they can’t see a thing. As they get deeper and deeper, their anxiety reaches an all-time high. They’re wondering what the government is going to do to them. “Are they going to kill us?” This question pounds in the back of all of their minds.
Hopefully, the government doesn’t plan to kill us… I hope they at least give us a fighting chance.” Mandy says in despair. Then the bubble lights up. They can see a little farther out now. They can see all the creatures that live down deep at the bottom of the sea. They see more Titanoboa’s, more Liopleurodon’s, Mosasaurus’s, they even passed a Megalodon. Then they see something else a little farther down. “Hey… you two see that light over there? It looks like it’s in a form of a circle. You see it?” Aki asks. “I do.” Mandy says. Then Eric agrees. “Wow. I do see it. It’s my city. Why did they sink it so far down?” Mandy questions.
They continue to sink farther and farther down. “There’s more lights below us now! A lot of them!” Mandy yells. The lights start to get brighter and brighter as they get closer. They keep looking around at all of the creatures that are swimming around them. They’re in astonishment with how many species are actually still alive. They’re just so deep, scientists can’t find them.
They get closer and closer to the lights. They start to panic and get terrified about what’s about to happen to them. They don’t know what lies at the lights. They don’t know if they’re going to kill them or feed them to the creatures. They have no clue on what’s going to happen to them. Nor do they have control either. All they can do is try and fight them.
“Holy s**t. I haven’t seen those extinct fish until now. That one right there is a Dunkleosteus. It’s completely made of armor to protect itself. Now if you ask me. If we went against that, we would all be dead.” Aki says. “Wow that’s marvelous to know. Hopefully, we don’t have to fight it or anything else. I’m honestly tired of fighting. But I will if I have to.” Mandy says nervously. “I agree. I believe all of us are wore out.” Aki says. “Oh, wow now that creature right there is a Helicoprion. A genus of shark. They have this weird saw round shaped jaw that sticks out of their bottom jaw. They also have spiral clusters of teeth called tooth whorls. They’re sort of diagonal so that they can make their prey go down their throat more easily.” Aki continues.
As soon as Aki finished talking, they look directly in front of them and notice that they’re right in front of the city. “You two ready?” Mandy asks. They both nod. Then something grabs them and pulls them inside. They are greeted by a man in a black suit and shades and then behind him, was a whole city made of coral.
“Hello you three. How are you? You all seemed to pass our tests. Good for you. You all are tough. Very, very tough. You have any clue as to where you are at?” The man asks. A few moments pass. Mandy finally responds. “Yeah, we’re in Atlantis. My city, the city you took over.” She says. “Aw, you used to live here. You must be terribly angry with me. I’m sorry for the takeover. Not really, but I figured you would want an apology so there you go. But yes, you are correct. We sunk it farther down as you can possibly tell, about 16 years ago, and before you ask, yes. It had your civilians. Your people were remarkably close to their Gods, weren’t they? So close that they even had some powers. Crazy, right? So, we just in-caged them. Right over there.” He continues. “But that area is filled with water. How do they survive?” Aki asks. “Go take a look for yourselves.” The man responds.
They all walk up to the in-caged area and look in. They do not see anything at first until about five minutes later. “Wait a second. That’s a mermaid.” Aki asks. “Why yes. Yes, it is.” The man replies. “So, why did you sink the city for? Did they do something?” Eric asks. “No, they didn’t. We honestly just do experiments on them. To try and figure out how they are able to breathe underwater and change into any creature they want, including humans. As you can tell, your little friend there is human right now, but she can change into a mermaid whenever she wants.” The guy says. “But I know you all want answers. So, you know how everybody who goes on the Bermuda just disappears?” The man asks. Everybody nods their heads. “Well. That is us doing all that as you all know. We made this invisible force that makes compasses and engines or whatever go crazy, so then you get lost. Then we send some of these extinct animals out there, up to the surface to attack you by luring them up with big delicious foods that they will love. Then the ones who aren’t strong enough to pass will die and the ones strong enough to live with come here to be with us and let us experiment on them.” He continues.
All of a sudden, sirens start to go off. Everybody is looking around. They can’t hear anything besides the sirens. They don’t see anything happening. Then they all look to the right and they notice that two other bubbles are coming in. “It has to be Leeroy.” They all mumble. “and who else though?” Mandy asks.
They bring in the other bubbles. The government gathers around to see who or what it is. They release him and walk him over to Mandy and them, “It’s Leeroy!!” Aki yells. They all jump up in their bubbles in excitement. “Now say bye, bye.” The governments leader says. They take him away into the city. “Where are you taking him?!” They all yell. The man starts to laugh. Then they open the other bubble. “Oh, my sweet darling! How are you?!” The guy asks giving the person a kiss. They both walk over to Mandy. “Lola.” She says. “Hey sister.” Lola replies with a wave of fingers. Then the guards open their bubbles and handcuff all three of them.
“Wait, you can’t do this!” Mandy yells. “Why yes. Yes, I can. How else are we going to experiment on you?” He asks sarcastically. They all are screaming for Leeroy to come back but he couldn’t hear them. The guards take each of them out of their bubbles. One at a time and handcuffs them. There were five guards. Three were holding on to Mandy, Aki, and Eric. While the other two stayed at the ends of them to make sure nothing funny happens.
They take them into the dark cold dungeons and throw them in the cells. When the guards leave, they all look around for a vent or something so they can sneak out, but they couldn’t find anything. Then Aki notices something weird about one part of the wall. It looks like it could crumble any minute. “I bet if we punch this hard enough, it will fall, and we’ll be able to get out.” Aki suggests. They all agree. They start taking turns punching the wall, but it made no difference. Mandy starts to think about what they could do. Then she remembers something. “I can try to push it with my powers. I can make a strong gust of wind and it should collapse.” Mandy suggests.
They all agree and back up. Mandy starts moving her hands around in circular motions. Forming a white bubble of wind. She puts her hands in front of her and pushes the ball of wind towards the wall and makes it crumble into tiny pieces.
They all walk through the wall and into another room. This room has tubs of tools and a door. They look around at the pink coral walls to make sure that there’s no traps. They don’t see any and continue walking to the door. Mandy glances through the window on the door. She see’s three of the man’s soldiers. “Okay, here’s the plan. Everybody grab a tool. The biggest tool you can find. There are only three soldiers in there and three of us. Eric you’ll take the one on the far right near the door, Aki you’ll take the one sitting at that desk, and I’ll take the one closest to us. I can make you invisible but only for 30 seconds. So, once I turn you two invisible, you have to go straight in and attack the ones I assigned to you. Got it?” Mandy demands. They both nod in agreement.
They all start to look through the barrels of tools to find the ones they want. Mandy got a hand saw, Eric got a wrench, and Aki got a screwdriver. They all three gathered at the door when they were all ready. She starts to move her hands and a white light started coming from her hands. Turning all three of them completely invisible. “Now hurry.” She says. Eric goes in first. He’s crouching and starts to walk towards the guy on the far right. Just as Aki started walking towards the guy at the desk. Then Mandy crouched next to her guy. She hits him on the neck with her saw, making his head come completely off and blood started squirting everywhere. Eric and Aki saw what she did. Eric bludgeoned his target to death. Hitting the guys head, over and over again. Blood started splattering everywhere. On the floor, on the walls. As Eric kept pounded his target, Aki stands up and stabs his right in his neck. Hitting the guys carotid artery. The guy grabs his neck and tries to talk but couldn’t speak. Aki removes the screwdriver from his neck and blood starts to squirt out. Splattering on the floor and walls.
As soon as they finished, the invisibility wears off. They start checking the men’s pulses, just to make sure that they’re all dead, then they crouch near the next door. The one that led out to the area where they came in at. They see Leeroy with Lola and the boss man. They’re all laughing together. Leeroy knows that they’re evil. Especially Lola. Why is he talking and laughing with them? “Has he been working for them this entire time?” Mandy asks herself.
