From her perfectly sculpted braid,to the dark burgundy of her lipstick, Ellie had planned this night to the finest detail. Now that she was at the party though, she was paralyzed with the realization that everything else was out of her hands.
Somewhere along the way, Michael had taken her hand and pulled her along to a more secluded space down a hall. The dim lights and distance from the crowd sent a chill down her spine.
'Relax. It's just Michael.' Ellie reminded herself, taking a deep calming breath.
Michael leaned her gently against the wall, putting a possessive hand on each of her hips. Ellie instinctively moved away from him, she heard his breath catch and his hands held her more firmly in place.
"Ellie" his voice was deeper than usual, as he all but moaned her name by her ear. She could feel his body heat through the thin fabric of her dress. She waited, fighting the urge to push him away.
"I don't know what this is," his eyes traveled hungrily over her body "But you're driving me insane."
The hands on her hips were moving down her body, settling in a tight grip on her butt. He pulled her to him, rocking his pelvis into hers. She felt his length through his loose fitting jeans and was surprised to feel both nauseous and excited by it.
"Michael..." Ellie stuttered, looking up into lust filled eyes. She couldn't believe this was the same guy who hadn't so much as pressured her for a kiss because he wanted to take things slow. This Michael was looking at her like he want to bend her over and take her right there.
"Michael, we can't do this here" Ellie's voice sounded more confident than she felt. He didn't loosen his grip though. His mouth went to her neck as one hand traveled back up her body, groping aggressively at her chest.
Panic set in as Ellie pushed against him, but his larger form held her in place.
"My guy", a low voice broke the spell over Michael. "She is clearly not okay with this."
Michael jerked around quickly, lust replaced with fury. He blinked a few times at the figure interrupting him, he hands balled in fists ready to swing.
"Oh, s**t. Well this is unexpected." Keira's brows furrowed as she took in the sight of her half-brother, looking uncertain.
Michael shook his head, as though he just woke from a deep sleep. Terror rose up in him as he turned back to Ellie.
"I am so sorry. I don't know what came over me. It was just this dress and all those guys and-"
Ellie shoved him and his apologies away.
"Save it, Michael. None of this is right." She stormed off, tears burning the corners of her eyes.
Keira glared at Michael before chasing after Ellie. She followed her down the hall, back through the crowded living room, and out through the garden full of curious onlookers. Ellie was almost to Michael's car when she realized, she didn't have a way home.
She heard quick steps behind her, and turned to unleash a storm on Michael. But it wasn't Michael she was face to face with. It was those green eyes that had consumed every thought she'd had for the last week.
"Look, I know you're going through a thing right now and you don't know me. If you do, you know I'm kind of related to that asshat..." Keira nodded in the direction of the house.
Ellie was only half processing the words. This train wreck of a night wasn't anything she expected, and yet she was here with the exact person she'd been longing to see.
"I guess what I'm saying is... can I give you a ride home?"
Chin quivering and tears threatening to spill over, all Ellie could do was nod.
