After a unpleasant thing that is called a bath, the reason for it being so bad was some kind of stuff that was put in my hair made my eyes burn effectively making me cry, Alpha took me to someone called a doctor at a place called a hospital. I was carried into a white room where a man in white clothes quickly enters the room I'm in and smiles at me as Alpha sits me down on the small bed in the middle of the room, as I look at the strange doctor a bad feeling settles into my body making my hands start to fidget. "Hello there, what's your name?" He softly asks me, as usual I don't respond and blankly look at him trying to hide how scared I am of him. His smile soon falters at my silence.
"I believe it's Emma, that's what the necklace she's wearing says." Alpha sighs as he tells the doctor. I reach under the neck of my shirt and pull out the shiny necklace that has my name or at least I think that's my name.
"Well Emma, I'm doctor Sam and Alpha Tyson brought you here to make sure you aren't sick." He smiles warmly at me, my brows furrow at his words cause I don't know what sick means, half the words the people here have used I have no idea what they are. Doctor Sam then looks to Alpha with a serious expression. "I know this isn't your responsibility but since you're the only person she seems to trust at the moment you'll have to keep her steady so I can draw blood, I'll do normal check up stuff first so she'll be a little calm before I stick her with the N.E.E.D.L.E." He spells out the word making me uncomfortable that he just didn't say the word so it's something he doesn't want me to know.
With a nod Alpha picks me up then sits on the edge of the small bed placing me on his lap and tightly holds me in place by wrapping his arms on my waist. "Emma I need you to listen to the doctor and do what says." Alpha says as he bends his head down to the side of me so we're looking each other in the eyes. My eyes flicker to the doctor then back to Alpha, biting my lip I simply nod at Alpha who smiles at me then gently squeezes me in a way that let's me know everything is going to be OK. My body stiffens as the doctor comes closer holding a small wooden stick.
"Open your mouth and say ahhh." I do as the doctor says then he puts the odd looking stick in my mouth and presses it down on my tongue as he looks around the inside of my mouth. Taking the stick out he writes something down on paper. Next he has what he called a stethoscope, raising my shirt up a little he places the cold metal on me making me flinch. He uses all kinds of stuff on me that is used for different things, something he sticks in my ears to look at them, a small hammer like thing that he softly hits on parts of my body that makes my legs kick and arms move, a clip on my finger that shows numbers and even put me in some kind of machine that shows my insides. What he tells me is the last thing he's gonna do makes tears spring to my eyes because it's something I've saw before, a syringe. Once when wolf people found me they stabbed on of those into me and a liquid came out that made my insides feel like they were on fire, I laid on the ground for an entire day screaming and crying in pain while they just laughed. A whimper leaves my lips as the tears start to fall and my body trembles in fear.
"Shhh it's OK." Alpha coos trying to calm me down. Giving me a sad half smile the doctor sticks it into my arm and I start screaming and thrashing around not wanting to feel the burning pain ever again. I need to get away from this mean man! Alpha tightly holds me in place trying to stop my struggling as the doctor tightly holds my arm so I can't move it. With tears streaming down my face I noticed this syringe is different from the one used on me before, this one has several different glass tubes that fill with my blood, when one gets full he quickly pulls it out replacing it with another one.
What feels like hours later the syringe is pulled out of my arm and the doctor puts some kind of sticky thing where the syringe was that catches the blood. I stop my screaming and struggling, turning around on Alpha's lap I wrap my arms around his neck and sob into his chest. A whimper escapes his mouth as he pulls me even closer and gently rubs up and down on my back with one hand then places a kiss on top of my head in an attempt to calm me down. Even though he held me in place while the doctor used the syringe on me I still feel a sense of safety with him and from the look he had on his face it seems like the syringe hurt him as much as it hurt me.
When my sobs turn into hiccups Alpha shows me what's called a TV that's one of the walls, he uses a black object to turn it on and my eyes widen in amazement at the tiny brightly colored people in the box, he said it was a cartoon. Moving us so we are facing the TV Alpha quietly lets me watch the cartoon for hours, I kept trying to get out of his arms to go closer to study the people in the box but he wouldn't let me making me pout on the inside and cross my arms over my chest. The funny looking people in the box make me laugh with the weird things they do and say, sometimes Alpha laughs with me. Every once in awhile he scowls at something they say and mumbles forgetting that I can hear him about how cartoons have to hide in something only adults would notice and that those kinds of words shouldn't be said in something meant for pups to watch. When I looked up at him in curiousity he would just smile on me and not explain what he's talking about.
Hours later the doctor enters the room again taking our attention away from the TV, I glare at the man for interupting the TV. "Good news, aside from lacking in certain nutrients she's completely healthy." He flips through papers as he talks. "Her vocal cords are completely fine so her not talking is either from not wanting to or not knowing how to so whoever is around her needs to speak to her as much as possible and explain any words you believe she might not know, the tests show Emma is three years old and even though she's not old enough to shift we believe when the time comes she'll have a very strong wolf if not a rare one. Her DNA shows she has alpha blood but there's something else mixed in with it that we can't identify which is what makes us believe she'll be rare, more than likely she'll also shift years earlier than normal or later than she should, it all depends on what kind of wolf she'll end up being." Tilting my head back I stare up at Alpha who has wide eyes and his mouth hanging open at whatever the doctor was telling him. "Emma is very lucky to have been found by you, who knows how much longer she would've survived in the forest by herself and it would be such a shame if the werewolf race lost a strong wolf we didn't even know was out there." The doctor widely grins as he keeps babbling on.
Finally Alpha clears his throat making the doctor shut up. "Let's keep this information to ourselves for the time being, we won't know anything for sure til she actually shifts and if word spread about an orphaned three year old that could be a rare wolf someone may come along trying to claim the girl as their own making up some sort of sob story as to why she was all alone in the forest to get their hands on her. We all know that not all the alpha's in the world have the best intentions when it comes to strong wolves, some like to find young ones so they can mold their minds to do whatever is told of them to do." A growl leaves him as he speaks his next words. "If someone was to get her thinking she'll be strong and it turned out she's just a normal wolf they'll either kill her or use her as a slave." Hearing the word kill makes a cold shiver run down my spine.
The doctor purses his lips and nods. "Yes that is true, as long as we keep this between us she'll be able to grow up having a normal life of free will here."
Alpha doesn't replay as he hurriedly stands up while keeping his hold on me. "Thank you Sam." Alpha walks past the doctor going straight out the door into the white hallways. I don't like this place at all, everything is white, it's cold, there's also a small trace of death in the air meaning people have died here. Going down several hallways and taking many turns we finally make it to the clear glass doors that lead outside. A smile lights up my face as I look at the greenery as I'm carried closer to it, as usual Alpha chuckles at my reaction.
Once we are out the doors Alpha sets me down on the grass and kneels down to my eye level, I like it when he gets to my height cause I don't have to tilt my head back to gaze up at him when he talks. "Since I'm the only person you like right now we aren't going back to the house we were at earlier, I'll take you to where I live so you can stay with me and there's a lot less people there and they are all very nice." I just nod my head. "It's farther away from here so I'm going to turn into my wolf form and I want you to get on my back and hold on as tight as you can okay?"
Not waiting for me to reply he quickly stands up and turns his back to me. My brows furrow in confusion as he steps behind a bush next to us that covers part of him and he starts to take his clothes off. I watch amazed as his bones start breaking and turning into a different shape but the sound of it makes me wince a little cause it must hurt, fur starts sprouting out of his skin, his face becomes longer and tail starts to form. In a second a large black wolf with brown eyes that matches Alpha's is in front of me. Even though I know the wolf is Alpha memories of the other wolf people comes to mind and I flinch back immediately stepping away from the wolf in fear. The wolf's eyes look sad, very slowly he takes steps closer to me making me start to breath faster, Alpha whines and lowers his head trying to show he means no harm. I stop backing away when I realize that even though he's being slow he's still faster than me, my body freezes as his muzzle comes inches away from my face making my breath hitch and a lump form in my throat.
Suddenly his big wet tongue touches my cheek as he gently licks me, the action tickles making a giggle leave me, his tail wags then he lets out a happy bark. Reaching both hands out I grab his muzzle liking the soft feel of his fur, playfully he raises his head lifting me several feet off the ground making me giggle even more. With a look of victory he starts trotting away with me dangling from his muzzle, when he sees how I'm having no trouble hanging on he picks up his pace to a slow run making the wind blow my red hair all over the place and my body swings back and forth. A few minutes later Alpha shakes his muzzle hard making me lose my grip and I go flying up in the air, before I have time to scream Alpha raises his head and grabs the back of shirt then starts running as fast as he can. My heart hammers in my chest at the increased speed but I trust that he won't drop me he's too nice to drop me on the hard ground.
A big white house soon comes into view, Alpha slows down to a stop and softly places me on the ground, with unsteady legs I start to teeter to the side but he quickly places his muzzle against me helping me regain my balance. He takes a few steps away from me and goes behind a tree, I start to follow him but he lets out a small warning growl making me stop and stand in place. Seconds later he steps out from behind the tree wearing different clothes than he had on before but I remember he took his clothes off right before he turned into a wolf so he would've needed new ones. Holding a hand out to me he steps closer and I place my tiny hand in his large one, I smile showing off my teeth at the warmth of the hand. Gently he squeezes my hand then begins leading me to the large house keeping his pace slow to match mine.
Entering the house one of the men from yesterday spots us and grins. "Oh the big bad alpha has become a babysitter, gotta say the pup look suits you."
Alpha growls at him. "Trace if I were you I would keep my mouth shut, for some reason I'm the only person who doesn't scare her right now so until she gets used to being around people she'll have to stay close by."
The man laughs. "I heard about her screaming fit when she woke up this morning and how at breakfast you so caringly let her eat off your plate with her bare hands." A woman comes up behind the man and smacks him on the back of his head.
"Don't you dare tease Tyson or the little girl!" The woman says with a stern face putting her hands on her hips. She then turns to me with a smile on her face. "Hi I'm Lauren, I'm this man's mate." She points to the man next to her. "His name is Trace."
I let go of Alpha's hand and wrap my arms around his leg hiding behind him. "Her name is Emma." Alpha states as he puts his hand on my head and messes up my windblown hair.
"That's a pretty name for a pretty girl." She smiles. "Do you know how old you are?"
Once again Alpha gladly answers for me. "We just found out she is three, she hasn't said a word so far so asking questions that aren't yes or not is pointless. The Sam said it's either because she doesn't want to talk or she doesn't know how to, so whoever is around her is supposed to talk to her as much as they can about anything and explain some words she might not know. Honestly more than likely she probably has no clue what half of the things I've said to her mean."
Lauren nods. "Well it's understandable that she wouldn't know a lot of words, there's a possibility she doesn't know any words at all if she's never saw a person before and if she ever has been near a person most likely it was rogues and considering she's here right now she wasn't around them for very long and it's doubtful they were good to her."
As the two keep talking an old woman comes rushing into the room carrying several white squares that look and smell like the food Alpha gave me yesterday. At her presence Alpha snaps his head in her direction and gratefully takes the food from her with a smile. My eyes stay glued to the food as I watch it go from her hands to Alpha's, my mouth waters as the memory of the taste fills my mouth. A giggle sounds out around me but I don't take my eyes off the white squares to see who giggled, then I hear Alpha chuckle, with everything in me I rip my gaze off the food to stare up at the large man who has one raised brow.
"Hungry?" I grin again and reach my hands up then start jumping up and down trying to grab one of the white squares.
"Wow I have never saw anyone like sandwiches that much." Lauren giggles
"Gross is that drool?" The man named Trace asks as he scrunches his nose then Lauren once again smacks him on the back of the head and Alpha growls at him making me stop jumping up.
"You dumb ass she's three! Of course she's drooling, it's normal for a three year old to drool a little every once in awhile. Just wait til you see her eat, if she's like normal toddlers there's gonna be slobber all over her hands." Lauren stops her ranting and widens her eyes as if a thought hits her. "She's three... oh my goddess she is probably not potty trained!"
"Yeah that's something we'll have to work on... she's had a few accidents today, I had to show her a toilet and explain what it was..." Alpha trails off furrowing his brows. The thing he calls a toilet I don't like too much, it's cold and too high for me to sit on, he said he would get something called a stepping stool so I can get on the toilet easier but I would just rather not use the toilet. "We'll worry about that later, we missed lunch so she has to be hungry." His attention goes to me. "Emma want to eat a sandwich?" He holds out a white square to me, I squeal and start my jumping up and down again, chuckling he lowers his hand letting me snatch the sandwich. Wasting no time I pull back the plastic like I saw Alpha do yesterday and take a big bite out of it. Alpha unwraps his as well and starts eating while talking to Trace and Lauren, I don't bother listening to them as I'm too busy munching on the sandwich and their words sound like giberish to me anyway.
When I finish eating a loud yawn escapes my lips and I rub at my sleepy eyes. Alpha stops talking to the couple then picks me up and carries me up the stairs. We go down a long hallway with lots of doors like the other house but the entire floor only has Alpha's scent meaning nobody else stays on this floor. Entering a door at the very end of the hallway my mouth drops open at the large room, the room is bigger than the entire cabin I was living in, there's the biggest bed in the world in the middle that Alpha said is king sized. Placing me in the center of the extra soft bed he opens a door that's in the room and comes out holding a giant shirt much like the one he gave me to wear after my bath this morning. "Arms up." He says as he makes it to the edge of the bed. Scooting closer to him I raise both arms up and he carefully takes the shirt I'm wearing off me and tosses it onto the floor then slides the new one over my arms and head. Picking me up he moves the blanket pulling it back, he then puts me down and covers me up with the warm blanket, loving the warmth and softness I snuggle into the bed letting out a sigh. Next to me the bed dips down and I roll over to see Alpha laying next to me covering himself up with the blanket.
His eyes meet mine. "You didn't do too well waking up by yourself this morning so it's best if you sleep with me for a few nights til you adjust to the house." I smile then move over closer to him and snuggle against his hard chest, his body stiffens but soon relaxes when I stop moving. "Goodnight Emma." He places a kiss on top of my head before I'm pulled into the most peaceful sleep I've ever had.
