Six years ago,
“You didn’t forget,” I noted when I found Chase calling me over to an empty table once I set foot in the school’s cafeteria. Watching him show his regard for buying me a boring salad made my heart skip a beat for a second there.
“I told you that I wanted to get to know you, didn’t I?” He even acted like a real gentleman when he pulled out a chair for me and gave me a slight push closer to the table when I sat down.
“You did, but I thought it was just your ego talking,”
