Chapter ThreeThe little pup squeaked as Monica examined his leg. She wasn’t a doctor, and certainly not a vet, but she knew enough to see signs of infection. “This must have just happened, no?” The pup’s pant made her smile. She had him on her kitchen table. When she got home, she placed him there along with some very small slices of meat and a little bowl of water. He couldn’t move well on his own, and she couldn’t honestly imagine how he got so far without help. But he did. The rabbit needed to be skinned though, and it couldn’t wait.
