/Gerald/ I shouldn’t have come. That’s what I told myself as I walked out of her apartment, the scent of her skin still in my lungs, the taste of almost kissing her was still on my tongue. But the truth? I wasn’t ready to leave. I wasn’t ready to let her go not when I knew Dave’s voice had pulled her back from the edge, and mine had almost pushed her over it.
