The sky had been gray all morning, and by noon the rain finally started coming down. It didn't seem like it was going to let up anytime soon, just a steady beat against the ground. I had a seminar that I just couldn't miss, and it was at three. So, I'm sitting in the library, looking out the window, and I'm thinking, yeah, it's probably going to rain. I mean, the sky didn't exactly look promising. I'd been checking it for about an hour, trying to prepare myself for the worst. My umbrella, though, wasn't exactly the most reliable thing - it was small and not all that great at keeping me dry. And to make matters worse, the bus stop was a ten-minute walk from campus, which meant I'd have to make a bit of a dash for it if I wanted to stay somewhat dry.
