Chapter 69: The Shattered Calm
Lucas drove steadily to school, his mind still reeling from the events of the night. The day had been a really long one. Starting from when he heard Sofia woke up from Coma to his attempted kidnap and the whole Liam issue. He was really stressed out. He parked the van outside the gate, the dim moonlight reflecting his somber mood.
With a deep breath, Lucas grabbed his backpack and stepped out of the van. The chill of the night's breeze didn't register as he walked towards the school premises. The night had descended upon the school, transforming its vibrant atmosphere into a tranquil oasis. Lucas returned to the deserted campus, the only sound being the crunch of gravel beneath his feet.
