Chapter 60: A Turn of Events
A commotion erupted outside the interrogation room, distracting the officers. Shouting and scuffling ensued as a group of rowdy protesters demanded attention.
"Perfect timing," Dax whispered.
"Give me some minutes Jake," he requested as he slipped into the interrogation room.
Lucas was shocked to see Dax but his eyes widened in relief.
"Dax! Thank God you're here," Lucas heaved.
"What's going on, Lucas?" Dax asked, his voice low.
"It's a long story man," Lucas answered.
"That can be shorten, speak up," Dax responded.
Lucas explained everything to Dax, starting from Sophia's suicide, his name in her note, his arrest and the whole mess up caused by her mother.
"And that's how I'm back here," he ended his story.
"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked.
