Later that night, people had come and gone for who knows how long, shops were closing for the night, restaurants were dark and the bar was soon to follow. With the clinking of glasses, he collected my empty drinks.
His face looked much too serious for my taste.
“You gonna be ok? You need any help or anything?” With a big grin I waved him off.
“Nah, s’fine. I'm good. Everything’s cool.” With a grunt I pushed myself from the chair. And after finding my balance on this incessantly unsteady ship.
I started back for the room.
The walls stretched and swayed as I walked. It would be alot easier to walk if they didn't keep bumping into me. People passing by looked at me funny, but I'm pretty sure that because of how happy I look. And I am, Yknow. This whole ‘Halloween’ wedding thing, s’not so bad. There are worse wedding themes I'm sure.
Finally I got to our door, and began to giggle quietly when I finally realized. I dont have the key
“Liam!” I called out, fist thumping on the door. “Liiiaamm” I called again, only barely able to contain my laughter.
The handle clicked and the door swung open. To that geogrously, handsome face of his. “Julie, where the hell have you been? Do you have any idea what time it is?” Shaking my head, I placed a finger over that mouth. “Shhhh” As elegantly as possible, I strut into the room. Dropping like a rock on the couch. “Are you drunk?” He asked, sounding concerned or possibly angry.
“Look baby,” I groaned. “You're right, y'know? It's gonna be great.” Unable to stop myself I began to giggle again. “I mean like, I just got served drinks by a Skeleton man. And-” Using my arms, I managed to drag myself up a bit. “And who else can say that dracula married them huh? Ha. That's gonna make for some crazy pictures, if he even shows up on camera.” I laughed.
Next to me on the couch, Liams arms slid under my back and legs, lifting me up.
“Damn it jules.” He sighed. Soon I was placed in an ocean of silk.
Instinctively, I stretched out my arms and legs, losing myself in the silky sensations.
“Come lay with me.” I sighed, completely on cloud nine. The side of the bed sunk down.
“What am I going to do with you huh?” His voice drew out with an exhausted sigh.
Rolling over, my arms snaked around him in apology.
Which only released another one. “Are we still on for tomorrow?”
Nuzzling my face in his back, I nodded. “Yes.” Ever so gently, he rubbed my head affectionately. “Good girl. Now get some rest” I groaned at that, wanting so badly to cuddle upon this sily red cloud. The lights went out as liam left the room, bringing his phone to his ear. “Hey what is it?” He asked someone, his voice became muffled as he shut the door with a soft click. Turning my head back I glanced out the window. The stars were so bright, the sea glistened like a mirror. All around was the quiet hum of the ship's engines, and the faint roar of the sea. Together with my spinning head, my eyes soon became like stone and covered in the thick blanket of sleep.
What felt like only moments later I was woken up by my gnawing thirst for water. Turning over, the clock read 4:18am. “Oh god…” Swinging my legs over the edge, my body felt no more reliable than cooked pasta. I swallowed thickly, my mouth and throat coated in a thick unbearable thirst. The carpet on my feet felt sureel to my skin as I managed to stand, wobbling over to the c***k of light coming from the bathroom across the room. Squinting across the floor I leaned on the wall to steady myself, when I heard Liam's voice from outside our bedroom. When I attempted to call for him, only muted squeeks came out. My voice silenced by thirst. I have to get water first.
Just as I reached for the handle, he began to shout outside. Grabbing my groggy minds full attention. Who is he talking to? Hesitantly I abandoned my quest for water and wandered over to our bedroom food, unable to stand any longer I slid down the wooden surface and slumped to the floor pressing my ear close to hear.
“No, no she went out for drinks and came back completely hammered. The wedding is still on, don't worry.” After moments of silence he sighed heavily again, sounding more annoyed than I can ever remember.
“I'll let you know. She's just sleeping now. Oh I wouldn't worry about that, she doesn't have a clue. Yea, sounds good. I'll talk to you tomorrow, bye.”
Next came rustling sounds and footsteps began to draw closer making my heart jump to my throat. Scared of being caught, I crawled desperately for the bed. Only making it to the side before the door creaked open a c***k. “Jules?” He whispered quietly. “You awake?”
Unsure what else to do I leaned against the bed frame, pretending to sleep. When he approached, he shook my shoulder gently. “Hey, what happened? You fall out of bed?”
Faking a yawn, I rubbed at my throat. Hoping he'd understand.
“I'll grab you some more water, one sec”
Standing, he rushed from the room to get a glass. My weak hands gripped at the blanket, as I climbed up the side of the bed, struggling to pull myself on top. Moments later the door opened again, In his hand was my saving grace, and ice cold glass of water. Eagerly I chugged it down.
“Whoa take it easy, don't wanna choke.”
With a smile, he carefully pried it from my hands.
“Hey uh-” I began, my mind swirled and circled with questions. Unsure if I want them answered. What don't I know about? Is he cheating on me?
If I ask, he'll know I was listening. “Yea?”
