So, when I decided to check when he called I got to know he just called about 1 min ago, I made up my mind to call him back, when his name popped up on my scree again, then I picked.

Happy birthday my sweet Rose,

yeah what do u want, oh! you actually forgot to wish me because of your too many assignments and practicals ohh yeah and your new girlfriend too, am sorry Rose, I cut him off again, don't make this day any worse than u already did.

He tried to stay calm, I knew from his deep sign, then he said again will u pls look out your window, I rolled my eyes thinking what could be outside my window, so I checked it out and I saw his standing there grinning at him.

The next minute I did the unexpected, I ran out of the house to hug, I was already sobbing silently. I didnt realize how much I missed him until that moment when I hugged him and he hugged me back, he sang me a birthday song.

When he was done I hit him severally for keeping me waiting all day, he then apologized that he wanted to surprise me, he also mentioned he left the cake on the kitchen counter for me. I forgot about everythibg he did and I was realived immediately. So we went back to my room, I asked him about college and his girlfriend. he said he broke it off that she was too clingy, I was doing a happy dance in my head don't blame me I like him too.

I was happy chatting with home telling him how my day was, when I got to the part about Jake asking me out to dinner I noticed he was very angry but he kinda masked it, I just brushed it off, as him being protective of me from guys like him.

He complemented my looks that I was rocking the looks so well, I eyes lit up that he finally noticed me, when my phone rang the caller ID was Dad, so i picked.

Hey dad, the voice I heard wasn't my dad's, but the voice said my dad was involved in an accident, he was rushed to the hospital but he didnt make make it. I was already lost I didnt know when the phone fell from my hand.

Brandon's POV

I wanted to make my sweet Rose happy I had to leave college on her day because I had a lot of stuff going on i didnt want to tell her, my mum and dad just divorced, am still processing it, that's why I missed thanksgiving, my mum was cheating on dad with her old friend. But I couldn't disappoint her, so I lied I had a lot of praticals and assignments that's why I couldnt make it on time., i had not faced my parent yet, they told me over the phone. i know she would understand my plight, but i didnt want to taint her poor soul, I knew she would later find out but then I would know how to comport myself around her.

When i got to her house she was not around so I left her cake on her kitchen counter and left for my own home to rest a bit, my dad was not around, I noticed mum already parked her things already, she has tried reaching me but I didnt pick any of her call.

I called Rose after 2 hours cause she might have gone out with her friends, she didnt pick, when I tried it again she finally picked, but judging from the way she replied after I wished her a happy birthday, she was f*****g pissed at me, I finally got her to calm and told her to look out her window when she did her whole expression changed from being sad to extremely happy, she rushed out to come meet me, damn she looked extremely hot, but I had to control myself in her presence.

We went inside her house we were gisting, when she asked about my girlfriend, I told her I broke up with her because she was clingy, but that was a lie its because I didnt like her, she was just a play thing all along, I don't like any girl at all except for my sweet Rose, I have had a crush on her since i was 14 and I knew it was wrong thats why am like this, I cant like any other girl except from her, though I have had different girlfriend in the past but none could compare to her, if only she didnt see me as a big brother. But I couldn't resist from complementing her looks today. We talked for a while when she was telling me all about her day in school and a guy named Jack asking her to dinner, I was furious but I had to mask it, I made mental note of dealing with him later, when a call came from her Dad, the next minute the phone fell from her grasp, I picked to listen to what the caller had to say, the caller said her dad was dead that he was involved in an accident that she should come identify the body and the like went dead.

It was there and then I knew I had to protect my little Rose from this cruel world. I felt so sorry for her

She looked so fragile and lost, she didnt cry. I stood her up and led her outside where I parked my car, and drove to my house, where I took her to my room to console her, she still didnt cry, not quite long when my dad came up to my room to tell me Rose mum was downstairs.

When I spoke to her, Rose your mum's downstairs, she just walked downstairs like a programed robot, immediately she set eyes on her mum crying, she started crying too, my dad and I gave both mother and daughter some time to grieve.
