When Fred reached home the next morning, he felt extremely guilty about what he had done with Emma in the office. So to make it up to Rose, he brought her a gift: an emerald green jewellery set consisting of a necklace and a pair of earrings which were made of diamonds. He was indeed just trying to compensate for the guilt he felt by giving her an expensive gift.
Instead of going to their bedroom, he decided to wait in the living room for her to wake up.
