For the past few days, I hadn’t felt safe.
That was the part that bothered me most.
When I’d first arrived at Jamie’s house, I’d been terrified. Everything was unfamiliar. The people. The house. The strange new family I’d suddenly found myself surrounded by.
But somehow, despite everything, I’d felt safe here.
Until Clay arrived.
Now I was constantly looking over my shoulder.
I couldn’t prove anything.
I had no evidence that Clay had done anything wrong.
But every instinct I possessed was screaming that there was something seriously wrong with him.
Thankfully, Jamie and Josh seemed to feel the same way.
Clay’s overly friendly, kiss-a*s routine might have fooled Lilly, but it hadn’t fooled them.
Unfortunately, knowing they believed me didn’t make it any easier to sleep.
