CHAPTER THREE

What happened Lucy?" Tia asked running to meet her leaving the macaroni she was preparing."I totally have no idea how it all played out to be very honest Tia but I am sorry I will be leaving here to work elsewhere henceforth." Lucy replied with her eyes filled with tears."What do you mean leave her to work to elsewhere?" Tia said flinching backwards."The customer I happened to have spilled wine on is the same man I bumped into at the park " she replied as she started her explanation."What?" Tia questioned with her eyes almost coming out of their sockets."You mean the man you were drooling over is the one who you spilled wine on?" Tia asked again to be sure she had heard her correctly."Yes and he wants me to come work for him starting tomorrow as punishment for my mistake and of course I am going to be paid but I do not have an idea how much." Lucy said sighing deeply."Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" Tia jumped in excitement."What is the matter with you Tia?" Lucy asked bewildered by the sudden excitement."You are going to be in a better place and probably with a better payment. You are Justine lucky girl Lucy." Tia said winking at her as she held her hands in hers."You think so?" Lucy asked wondering if all was well with Tia."Of course." She said dragging Lucy to the storeroom where there were seats."Seat my darling." She said patting the seat nearest closest to her."So you see, I think you are finally going to get the best life that you deserve." Tia said squealing so excited."You bumped into him at the park, you like him, you spilled wine on him and now he wants you to work for him. Do you not see what is going on?" Tia asked smiling."I totally have no idea what you are taking about Tia." Lucy said shaking her head in disbelief."Whatever, all I know is that you are going to do just fine and great there but do not dare forget me." She said pointing her index finger to Lucy's face with a stern face."You know I would never, ever do that to you. If I have the chance I can talk to him to make you join me too." Lucy said."Hmm, I do not think that is a bad idea though." Tia said placing her hands on her waist."I think it is best I go back to work before the evil wench comes out to gnaw at me." She said and rushed out of the storeroom."I really hope you are right Tia." Lucy said closing her eyes and just then her phone rang making her fling her eyes open."Hello?" She said after picking."This is Lorenzo, Mr McCormick's assistant." The caller introduced."Ohh, right." She said wondering why he was calling her."He looked into your background and paid your stepmom to gain full custody of you so I suggest that you come down to his villa rights after you leave the restaurant." He said before ending the call."Wait, what?" She shouted in disbelief and shock as she kept looking at her phone."That wicked woman sold me off for God how much." She said boiling with rage."Calm down Lucy." She said trying to control her emotions."Come to think of it, it is not even like I love living with them." She said scoffing out loud."I think it is best that I never have to set my eyes on them ever again." She said nodding her head in agreement as she tried to make herself feel better."What is so special about this girl that you have decided to bring her down to the villa as your person waitress?"Mr. McCormick's mom, Susan asked sipping her coffee."I am yet to figure it out mom and that is obviously why I am sharing it with you." He explained."Ever since she bumped into me at the park, I keep dreaming of her." He said slowly."Or is it that my son has finally fallen in love after so many years?" She gasped on hearing him."Come on mom!" He exclaimed raising his hands up in the air."You know I am right son or is she just pretty?" Susan asked."She is sure pretty mom and very decent too." He answered."I am looking forward to meeting the new waitress and young, pretty lady that has captured the heart of my son that he dreams of her literally every night." She said tiptoeing to the door."I hope to see her at dinner " she said when peering her head into his study as she was outside."Mom!" He called weakly."Bye." She said before quietly closing the door."Looking forward to seeing you too Lucy." He said bringing out his phone to stare at her picture."Lorenzo!" He called."Yes, Mr McCormick." He answered as soon as she entered into the room."See to it that Lucy is brought home straight from work." He ordered without looking up from his phone."I will do as you have instructed Sir." Lorenzo said before waking out of the room."It is time to go prepare for dinner." He said to himself and headed out of his study."Get into the car miss Lucy." Lorenzo said immediately he spotted her coming out of the restaurant."Why?" She asked timidly holding Tia very close to herself."Mr McCormick told me to come pick you up immediately after work." He said with his face motionless."Get in Lucy." Tia urged."I promise to call you all through the way so you do not feel trapped or kidnapped." She said closing her eyes halfway."Trust me, it is alright." She said opening the backdoor for her friend to enter."I love you Tia " Lucy said not wanting to let go of her friend."And I love you too Lucy." Tia said slamming the door shut close and waved as Lorenzo drove away."I will miss you so much my friend." She kept waving with tears streaming down her face till the car was out of sight.

"It is understandable that you are going to miss your friend but I think you must learn to be brazen at all times." Lorenzo said keeping his eyes on the road.

"You are not allowed to cry over trivial stuff at Mr McCormick's house, it makes you look weak to him." He added making a turn.

"Learn to keep your emotions in check, it will be of great help to you." He said and Tia stopped weeping, she wiped her wet face with the back of her hand and kept looking out the window.
