+Brandy The sun was just about to set once we finally reached the park. We took so long at the ice cream parlor, that for a complete minute we forgot about the idea of going. There wasn't much people here, but the few that were kept to themselves and moved along with their lives. I sat on the bench, watching as Elijah and Elliot played on the monkey bars. Elijah was going through it effortlessly, while Elliot only held onto one bar to swing back and forth. "You're not doing it right Ej." His father told him. But Elliot only shook his head. "Yes I am daddy." He turns to look at me. "Right mommy?" He asks. I chuckle. "You aren't baby, but it's the thought that counts." Elliot huffs, before letting go of the monkey bars. He falls to the ground, then gets back up again. "Daddy, can we go down the slides?" Elijah lets go as well. "Sure thing." Picking Elliot up and placing him high on his shoulders, Elijah runs with him, climbing the stairs that reached the swing. "You're starting to get heavy, what the heck is your mom feeding ya?" "Food." I yell out, glaring at him. "You should try it sometimes." "I do." He yells back. "You're just jealous of my body." "No baby, it's the other way around." Elijah smirks at me, before shaking his head. Even though he had on that stupid mustache, you could tell he was trying his hardest not to laugh. He ignores me and goes back to what he was doing with Elliot. I watch them go up and down the brown slides, both their happiness makes me smile. Elliot has been different since his dad came into his life. He talks more, kinda... and smiles a little more than often. He's not as closed off as he use to be. I mean there was a time getting him to shower with the water up was difficult and now that Elijah's been here, Elliot has been making an effort to use the shower with the water up. Day by day he's getting more into it. He's even liking daycare. Elijah says that Ej reminds him of his mother, but never says how. Which perks my curiosity. He doesn't really talk about his family. I can't tell if it's because he doesn't trust me or if it's something deeper than that. Family is never a topic he likes to address. Sometimes I find myself wondering about Elijah's brother. In fact I find myself wondering about both his siblings. Elijah only mention the both of them once and from what I could gather, his brother has autism but from the way he spoke about him, I think he died. And his sister was in a abusive relationship, but he speaks about her in present tense, instead of past. So I'm guessing she's alive. "Brandy?" I hear someone call, which snaps me out of my thoughts. I quickly turn around to see who it was, my eyes squinting in the process. "Tyson." I say lowly, not really happy to see him. We haven't spoken since the day I killed JD, which was about two weeks ago. I've been avoiding him ever since. Him being here right now was a total surprise... and a mood kill. "What are you doing here?" "I'm here with Candace, she wanted to go for a run so I decided to go with her." He says eyeing me. He looks like he has a lot to say. "You've been ignoring my calls and text." He says, frowning. "I've been worried about you." My face forms a glare. "Okay and? I didn't ask for you to worry about me. And I sure as hell have a right to ignore you, seeing as you threatened to call the cops on me." He shakes his head, moving close. "Brandy, come on. Don't act like that. I was just trying to stop you from making a decision that would ruin your life." "Yeah? Well, it didn't. I'm perfectly fine." Standing up, I step away from him, grabbing my purse in the process. "You can go now, I'm trying to enjoy my son having fun. And you being here right now is ruining it." Tyson ignores me, stepping into my personal space. "No, I'm not leaving Brandy. Not until we talk about this, like some actual adults." He grabs me by the arm, not forcefully but his grip is tight. My eyes widen at the touch, my mind instantly going to a dark place. "Talk to me B." "Tyson, you've known me for a pretty long time, which means you know that I don't like to be touched. Now, I'm only going to say this once." My lips from into a thin line. "Get your fuckin hands off me, right now before I break you're fuckin dick." "Brandy." He says, trying to speak but is cut off by Elijah. "Everything okay here Brandy?" Elijah asks, his head tilting to side, noticing Tyson's hand around my arm. His face is expressionless and his demeanor is stern cold. "Is it?" He ask again, his eyes glued on Tyson. I watch as Tyson visibly gulps, before releasing my arm. I glare at him, before looking at Elijah. "Everything's Fine." I tell him. Elijah raises his eyebrows, his hands behind his back. "You sure?" He asks, keeping his deeply gaze on Tyson. "Yeah bruh, she's sure." Tyson says boldly, glaring at Elijah. "Brandy who is this guy?" He asks, turning me. "None of your business." "I'm Ej's father." Me and Elijah said at the same time. Tyson's face scrunches up in confusion. "What?" He says. "I didn't stutter." Elijah says. "Now who are you, and why the hell were you just touching the mother of my children without my permission?" My eyes widen at Elijah's choice of words. "Children?!" I wanted to say out loud. We only had one kid together. What the hell was he talking about? "I'm Tyson." Tyson says with the same energy. "Brandy's best friend." He frowns at Elijah. "When the hell did you rise from the dead? Brandy told me you were dead." Elijah looks at me, smirking. "Did she now?" He says, shaking his head. "Well it's clear she was lying, since I'm standing here right now. But anyways, Brandy it's time for us to go." He turns around to look at Elliot. "Ej, come on buddy we're leaving." Ej pouts. "Do we have to?" He asks, slowly climbing down the stairs. "Yeah, Ej we have to go." I turn to look at Tyson. "Goodbye." Not sparing him a second glance, I walk away from him and towards Elijah. Ej runs to his father and his father picks him without hesitation. Once I'm close enough, Elijah wraps his arm around me, pulling me close. "You're petty." I whisper as we walk away. He shrugs. "Petty is good." He responds. "It builds character, besides he's staring at your ass." I gasp. "No he wasn't." I pause. "Wait. Was he really?" Elijah rolls his eyes. "Yeah, he was." He says, before chuckling. "I don't blame him though, it's a pretty nice ass to look at." Rolling my eyes, I move his arm from around me. "You're unbelievable." I tell him as I step away to unlock the car door. "Both you and him are unbelievable, I mean for Christ sakes, he has a girlfriend yet he's full on staring at my ass. That's just gross." Getting inside the car, I start it as Elijah fix Elliot up in the back. When he's done and finally takes a seat, I start talking again. "And you on the other hand, why the hell did you tell him you were Ej's father?" Elijah shrugs. "Because I am." He states. "Start driving." I glare at him. "Not until you put on your seatbelt." He doesn't like to ware seatbelts which irks my nerves, seeing as their meant for his safety. "And yeah you are, but now Tyson is going to get suspicious and he's going to start digging for answers. As in looking into who the hell you are? What if he finds out your real identity? Then what? We're screwed!" "Brandy." Elijah says lowly. "Calm down." He says placing his hand on my lap. "There's no way he'll found out my true identity. You want to know why?" He asks and I nod. "Because my name isn't on Ej's birth certificate and you haven't told him anything about me. Theres no trace of me. I'm unrecognizable baby. He doesn't know anything and he never will. And if he ever does, I'll take care of it." My eyebrow raise. "Take care of it?" I question. "You mean like kill him?" I say low enough to the point where Ej can't hear me. Me and Tyson weren't on good terms right now, but the thought of him being killed or harm didn't sit right with me. He's helped me with a lot. Elijah's eyebrows raise as he moves his hands to put on the seatbelt. "Kill him?" He repeats, with his hand on his chest. "Who do you think I am Brandy?" He asks, lowering his voice, whispering, "Just because I'm in the mafia, doesn't mean killing is my number one option." He says, sounding offended. "Besides, why would I kill someone whose basically almost like family to you?" He questions. "Even though I don't like him and you guys aren't on the same page right now, I know that you have a soft spot for him in your heart." My eyebrows raise. "So your saying you wouldn't kill any of my friends?" He lifts his finger up. "I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that killing isn't always my first option. And there's much other worse things than death. For example if any of your friends were to betray us, I'd want to kill them." He admits. "But wouldn't, because I know it would hurt you. Which leaves me with my other options." My eyes widen. "Which is?" "Depends on my mood to be honest." He says. "There's always human trafficking, torturing, f*****g up the body, mind fucking." He chuckles. "That's my person favorite. There's also killing that person's loved one, homelessness." He stops. "There's more, but I don't think I should name them in front of the kid." "You're involved in human trafficking?" Elijah sighs. "No, personally I'm not. But that doesn't mean the Mafia isn't." I frown at him. "It doesn't matter Elijah, you're still apart of the Mafia, which technically makes you apart of human trafficking. Goodness grace, your father is the leader of the Mafia for crying out loud." "Believe it or not Brandy, you can be apart of the Mafia and not associate yourself with human trafficking. And it's not my fault that I'm in the mafia, hell I was born into it." I stay quite for a moment, taking in what he just said. "Does that mean Ej's going to have to be in it as well?" Elijah opens his mouth to answer but then closes it, hesitating to answer. He licks his lips, tugging at his earlobe. For a moment I'm blown away by how quiet he is, it's the first time I've ever seen him display this type of emotion. He's usually calm and goofy. "He'll have a choice to make when he's older, just like I did." He says looking me dead in the eyes. "Sixteen to be exact. On his sixteenth birthday I'll ask him if he'd like to be apart of the mafia and if his answer is yes, then he'll continue on with my legacy... with my families legacy." "And if he answers no?" "Then I'll continue to support my son in whatever life choice he chooses." Elijah says firmly. I shake my head. "I don't want our son, caught up in anything that has to do with the mafia Elijah." He sighs, passing a hand through his hair. "Brandy, since the moment we had s*x in that damn club he was already caught up. The same goes for you." He says truthfully. I gulp, not knowing what to say. My mouth shuts, and I decide it would be best to just drive home now. - By the time we got home, the sun was on the verge of setting. The car was completely quiet, everyone battling with their inner thoughts. Shutting off the car, I quickly step out and go to Ej's side. Opening the door, I help him out and begin to carry him. "I got him." Elijah says from behind me. "No, I've got him." I say, turning around to walk past him. Elijah huffs, pressing the bridge of his nose. "Are we seriously going to do this right now Brandy?" I shrug. "Do what? I'm not doing anything." I throw the car keys at him. "Here, lock the car." Not waiting for him to say anything else, I begin walking to the porch. Elijah locks the car before unlocking the house door. He steps in and turns on the light. Stepping in after him, he shuts the door and locks it. Taking off his boots, he arranges them at the front door, while I put Ej down for him to stand on his own. "Take off your shoes baby." I tell him. He shakes his little head, fidgeting with his small fingers. "I don't like it when you and daddy fight." He says, lowly. "It makes me sad. I like it b... better when you're both... happy." My eyes start to water. Seeing him sad like this, hurt... a lot. Bending down to his height I look at him. "I'm so sorry baby, we didn't mean to make you sad." Getting closer to hug him he steps away. "No touch." He says, with his head down. It didn't take a genius to realize that he was crying. "Elliot." His father calls, before bending down onto his knees as well. "We're sorry bud, it slipped our minds about how us arguing could effect you. Arguing is one thing, but arguing in front of you is another and it should never happen again. It's not right." "Promise me." He says, not making any eye contact. "Promise you'll never fight again... at all." Elijah looks at me, before turning around. "We promise bud." Elliot shakes his head. "No, pinky promise." He says. Elijah smirks. "You're definitely your mother's child." I try my best not to laugh. "There's nothing wrong with that, it just proves that he takes after me, more than you." Rolling my eyes, I stick my pinky out. "Anyways, I promise not to fight ever again." "I promise the same thing." Elijah says, crossing his pinky with mine. Elliot smiles. "Now kiss." Both Elijah's and my eyes widen at his command. "Brandy, what the hell have you been teaching my son?" He asks, looking at me confused, which causes me to burst out laughing. He moves closer towards me. "Me? I should be asking you that question." I say, looking at him with raised eyebrows. "What the hell are you doing? Why are you so close?" "I'm trying to kiss you." He tells me, casually. "The kid wants us to do it, to seal the promise." He wraps his long arms around my waist, pulling me close. "Don't worry." He whispers. "I won't bite." His face moves closer. "I promise."  Our lips touch, creating a small, yet gentle kiss. My heart thumped hard in my chest at the amount of heat I was feeling. The kiss grew bigger and more intense, to the point where I could feel myself get wet. "Eww." Elliot says, snapping us back into reality. Backing a way, Elijah stares down at me. His stupid smirk on his soft pink lips. "See, told you I don't bite." His smirk widens as he turns around to look at Ej. "Come on bud, let's go watch some sponge bob. I think mommy needs to go change." My eyes pop out of their sockets. He did not just say that. That damn bastard. He winks at me, chuckling as both him and Ej walk away, leaving me, kneeling on the title floor. "f**k me." I mumble, feeling my arousal brewing in between my legs. I sigh, standing up. "Vibrator, here I come."
