Draco opened eyes to see white ceiling and he groaned. He didn't remember much of the last few hours, but he knew the hospital wing when he saw it. He could hear the low voices of his head of house and what sounded like Blaise, and….Potter? That couldn't be right, could it? He tried to think back on the night before, to remember anything that had happened, but he couldn't. He tried to sit up, but his body screamed at him and he groaned, getting the attention of the people in the room. "He's awake!" Harry yelled, running towards Madam Pomfrey. Draco took the time to look around and see who all was surrounding him. On one side of his bed he had Theo, Blaise and Pansy, and on the other was Severus and now Potter and Pomfrey as they walked up. "Mr. Malfoy, how do you feel?" the mediwitch asked, casting a diagnostic spell to check his vitals. "Sore. What the hell happened to me? Why am I here?" he asked, looking around at all the concerned faces. "You don't remember?" Harry asked. Draco shrugged and thought back and then flopped back on the bed and groaned when the memories of last night flooded his mind. He didn't know what mortified him the most, the fact that he got his ass kicked, or that Potter had had to carry him to the hospital wing while he was wearing nothing but a blanket. Oh god, the other boy had seen him naked. He threw an arm over his eyes and sighed. "I'd say he remembers now," Pansy snickered. Draco shot her a glare, avoiding looking at anyone but her. She giggled and stuck her tongue out at him. He didn't want to look at Potter, but his eyes were drawn to his face and he stared when all he saw on his face was worry. Why would Potter be worried about him? "What happened to weasley?" he asked. Potter blushed and looked down and Pansy giggled again. Blaise inclined his head in the direction of one of the other beds and Draco could see Weasley glaring in their direction, dried blood on his face and his arm in a sling. "What happened to him? I only remember breaking his nose, so who broke his arm?" Harry shrugged, but Theo was the one who answered him. "Well, Harry here said he had come out of the bathroom to see the Weasel beating you to a pulp and had thrown him off of you, but it sounds like he had ripped his arm out of socket and tore some ligaments and fractured his shoulder before he carried you here." Draco looked at Potter in confusion, looking for some answers. Potter looked at him and sighed. "Rons been acting like an asshole for a while, so I knew our friendship wasn't going to last much longer, but attacking another student was going too far. Especially after what he had said. He had no right to out me to you. I wasn't exactly ready to come out to anybody yet, but I guess that didn't matter to him. He is a bit homophobic, it would seem." Draco snorted at that. "He hasn't exactly been acting like a friend lately, and I've decided I don't want that kind of behaviour in my life anymore. I would also understand if you want to change rooms with someone else, not everyone wants to room with a pouf." Harry was rubbing the back of his head, not making eye contact and staring at the floor. Draco sighed."Switching rooms would be awfully hypocritical of me Potter, seeing as I'm also a 'pouf' as you say. So, no, I won't be switching rooms with anyone," Draco said. He laughed when he heard Potter's neck crack from whipping his head up so fast to stare at Draco. The look on his face was so comical, Pansy burst out in a new round of giggles. Draco smirked at Potter, before the boy seemed to panic and bolt from the room. Blaise shook his head and summoned a chair to sit at Dracos bedside. "I think you scared him, drake", he chuckled. Draco glared at him but laughed. pansy looped her arm into Theo’s and cleared her throat. "Well, we will leave you both to chat amongst yourselves. Theo has a prior engagement in the library with a certain bushy haired Gryff and I want to watch." She flicked her hair over her shoulder and pulled a blushing Theo out of the hospital wing, leaving Draco and Blaise to stare after them in confusion and shock. "Did she just say what I think she just said? Does theo have a thing for a Gryffindork?" Draco exclaimed. Blasie raised an eyebrow at him and he grunted. "Don't start.", Draco scolded. They sat and talked for a while before Madam Pomfrey came and released both Draco and Weasley and they went to the great hall to get some lunch. He could feel a headache building behind his eyes and the auras started to show up again and he knew that he would have to go back to the lake again tonight after the beating he had received. He sat down at the Slytherin table and looked up, catching Harry's eye, mesmerized once again by the colors floating around the other boy. His was the only aura that didn't make him feel seasick. He sighed and began to load his plate with food, trying not to think about the trip to the black lake he was going to have to take tonight. He had just gone, and as much as he loved swimming in the lake, he would prefer to do it when he wanted to and not when he had to, as it was more fun when he didn't need the water to heal him. He sighed again and started when he felt Blaise jab him in the ribs pointedly staring at his water glass that currently had a storm going on inside it. He shrugged sheepishly, cutting off the magic that was causing the water to rage in the glass. The sudden loss of magic made the water slosh down the sides of the cup, spilling all over Blaise's lap and the boy scowled at him. HPDM Harry looked up just in time to see Draco staring at him. He looked away quickly, not understanding why the other boy had been staring at him so intently. He would have to watch him closer if he wanted to get down to the bottom of what he and Blaise had been doing. He was lost in thought, stabbing at his treacle tart when he heard someone clear their throat beside him. He looked up to see Hermione hovering, looking like she didn't know if she was welcome. He smiled at her and she seemed to sag with relief and sat down next to him. "Hi Harry. I wanted to apologize for how I've been acting lately. I really am proud of you with how far you have come in your academics. It's just hard not being the top Gryffindor, you know? But, I want you to know that I fully support you. And I am appalled at Ronald’s behavior. I wanted you to know that no matter what Ronald does, I will not betray our friendship." Harry stared at the witch with watery eyes, touched that she was still with him. He didn't know if he would be able to survive the loss of both of his closest friends. He pulled her into a hug and gave a watery chuckle. "Thanks, Hermione, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that. I was afraid you felt the same way Ron did and were disgusted with me", he said. She shook her head and muttered that Ron needed to get over himself and pull his head out of his arse. Harry chuckled and they returned to their desert, Harry digging into his massacred treacle tart with renewed enthusiasm. Maybe now he could get some help figuring out what the two Slytherins were up too.......
