CHAPTER 23“Ouch! You bit me!”
He let her go and shook his right hand.
“That was for throwing pillows and mats at me,” she chirped, then poked her tongue out at him and asked her magic to help her fly through the floor. At last, she made it, and burst out through the ceiling on the level below.
“Dammit, Phoenix, I’m just trying to help you!” came the angry scream from above her.
She quickly looked around to see if any humans had heard, but none of the palace staff seemed to have noticed anything. Perhaps Lumina’s immortal hearing had allowed her to detect Lothaire’s shout.
She flew down to the dungeons. If she couldn’t help the captured rebels until later, then the least she could do was be there in solidarity with them.
