The Library Of Dark Magic

After all the fun that was had last night, i woke up in my bed, knowing that it was time to get down to bussiness. The vampires lay in their coffins for the day, it was time Gemma and me started planning our way into the so called dead zone.

I lay thinking of what Maria-Hope said about me being the pure one, that she wants the chalis and dagger, but why did she want it? how was i the pure one? these question rattled around my head all night, but i couldn't think of any answers, so in order to get mum back from hell, it was down to Gemma and me to work this one out for ourselves, we needed a game plan and find these objects, but knowing where to start i think had to be in Gemmas hands.

I knocked on Gemma's bedroom door, and asked "are you up?" "Yeah come in" she replied. I opened the door and she was packing a bag. I told her "we need to find the chalis and dagger before Maira-Hope does something to my mum. How can we find them?". "i was wondering this last night and i think we need to get to the library" Gemma said with ergency. We walked through the main hall and into the library, Gemma ordered "find a book called, in us within" confused i asked "in us within?" She explained "it's the handle to a secret part of the library", knowing what she was talking about, because Toby told me about it i wispered "the library of black magic" taken back that i knew about it, Gemma frowned and asked "yeah, how'd you know?" Worried about dropping Toby in trouble, i told her "Maria-Hope told me".

"Oh" she replied and we both egerly looked for the book "in us within". As we were looking Gemma said "i want to thank you for yesturday, you seemed to give me a new lease of life", happy we are now seemingly friends, i cheerfully said "your welcome, i'm glad it cheered you up". She gave a little smileand turned away.

We looked high and low for this book, but we were not getting anyway, it seemed like we were never going to find this book, it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack, hundress upon hundreds of books, to look through to find this lever, but finally after long last i saw this old tattered book covered in dust and cobwebs entitled "inus within". "I found it" i shouted with relief. I went to pull the book but nothing happened and the book went back, Gemma approached and explained "it's only witches that can enter" Gemma pulled the book and the book shelf started to slowly open, a cloud of dust and cobwebs covered us, making us both cough.

When the dust settled, the door finally opened, Gemma stepped in, but as i tried to follow her, i hit what felt like an invisable brick wall, Gemma said "you can't enter, your human". Frustrated i exclaimed "oh good, so what am i supposed to do then", "sit and wait" she replied. So i sat down like a spoilt school boy. Gemma looked around, looking high and low once again to find something that would hold some answers but i am still none of the wiser of what it is she is looking for. "What are you looking for" i asked "don't know" she answered "i shouted into the room "you mean weve found this book opened the secret library and you don't even know what your looking for" loosing her temper Gemma told me "look this is the first time in her too, i've never done anything like this, shut up or i'll shut you up", "so how'd you find the people or creatures you needed to protect" i querried.

"Mum and Maria were the protectors, i didn't care" worried of showing to much emotion she followed that with "i still don't". Mocking her i joked "yeah, but you care about me now, you don't want me getting hurt har har", Gemma waved her hand and my mouth closed shut, as if someone had just glued it closed, i tried to talk but i couldn't, i pointed at her and frowned, Gemma smiled and carried on looking for clues to our next step.

I sat on the floor humming which seemed to be annoying Gemma, seens as she then decided to confiskate my voice too wirh a clench of her hand. As she was still looking around, i was sat on the floor staring at the door, when i looked closer i noticed someone was stood at the doorway, i stood up and my heart started racing. The door opened a jar, to reveal a face with bright red eyes, the door opened more, it was a werewolf but not completly changed he was half man half wolf.

I tried to shout for Gemma but she'd taken my voice and sealed my mouth shut, i tried to get into the library of dark magic but i bounced off and i tried to get her attention to no success. I looked around and the doorway was empty, panicing i desperately tried to get Gemma's attention, whilst trying to spot where this thing was.

I saw Gemma at the back of the library when suddenly i felt something breathing down my neck, the little hairs started standing on end and a chill went down my spine, the were-man scratched down my back picked me up and threw me across the library. Needless to say this got Gemma's attention so she grabbed what she had, ran out of the library of dark magic and she used her powers to push the monster away, she dragged me up and pulled me out of the library using her magic to shut the door behind us.

As we ran towards, the still detroyed main metal doors the were-man broke through the library door and chased us upto the feild. As we got to the top of the stairs, we seen in the distance another 2 were-mrn charging towards us. We diverted across the other side of the feild with the were-men hot on our tail, all the while Gemma was using her powers behind her to deflect them away. Nothing worked, we entered the nearby woods where i became lost, Gemma seemed to go into another direction without me noticing. I stood lost shouting "GEMMA, GEMMA". As i went quiet and caught my breath, i heard sticks snapping behind me. i shouted louder "GEMMA", I turned quick but there was nothing behind me, i shouted as loud as my breath and voice would let me "GEMMA", i heard more sticks snap to the side of me, i looked and it was Maria-Hope scared i shouted "stay away from me", deviously she said "but you want your mother back don't you" she waved her hand and my mum appeared from nowhere. "Mum" i said in fear, i was relieved to see her alive, i ran towards her and was able to give her a hug.

I begged and pleaded Maria-Hope "please let her go, please dont hurt her" i hugged mum tighter and reassured her it's going to be ok i'll get her out of there. "Right that'll do" and she threw us apart by her powers, i flung to the floor on my back winding myself. And my mum dissappeared.

Maria-Hope negociated "you find the dagger and the chalis and bring them to me by yourself, i will free your mother, i know you saw the chalis and dagger in the book of souls so don't even try telling me you didn't, so go find them and bring them to me and she'll be released, you've taken too long as it is you've got a week or your mum dies".

After she disappeared, Gemma arrived. "Brendon are you ok", Gemma asked, i told her "yeah, Maria-Hope was here and she said that we need to find the chalis and dagger, and" stalling Gemma exclaimed "and what?" I need to take it to her by myself to get my mother back".

Gemma asked "on your own?" i followed on with "but shes restricted our time to a week because we're taking to long". Lost and frustrated i told her "we nedd to get a move on now". Just then i had an appifeny, maybe Gemma could do some sort of location spell. "Could you do some sort of spell to locate it" i asked, "i can try, but i need to go back to the library of dark magic, to find the spell book".

"Ok let's go" i said with haste, i started to walk. "Wait" Gemma shouted "have we thought of why she want's you to find them? and why she want's you to deliver it, On Your Own?" Concidering what a good point Gemma had. I decided while she was in the library of dark magic, i'll look around the library and see if i could find some answers, there must be a ritual she wants to carry out,the more we find out about it, the more prepared we can be.

But first we needed to find our way out of the woods, we turned back the way we came and walked down to the feild. "Gemma" i asked "what's the set plan". Giggling "i have no idea" she replied. We walked for a while through the woods and saw in the distance through the trees the feild. With joy in our step we carried on walking up to the the willow tree. We raced in with ergency and ran into the great hall.

We ran over to the library, and where we left the library in a such hurry all the doors were left open but the library door was off it's hinges. Gemma went into the library of dark magic to look for a spell to find the dagger and chalis, and i set out to find a connection between the book of souls, chalis, virgins blood and the dagger.

After hours of reading and nearly giving up hope i found some connections. As i read with great intent, i found that the virgin sacrifice was to spill great amounts of blood into the chalis, only spilt by the dagger, which apparently is inflamed by a dragons breath. The book of souls contains a spell that, with the correct ingrediants will awaken the dead souls, and become Maria-Hopes slaves, but, also the demons that keep them will rise and reek havoc in the mortal relm, and take the human race as slaves also.

I shouted to Gemma the information i found, "i found a spell that might help find the dagger but i need your help, you need to ground me" she informed me, confused i asked " what do you mean ground you" "this spell is a very powerful spell i need you to hold my hands whilst i cast it and you anchor me, other wise i could die. The power will flow around your body too, its called grounding" she told me.

Nervous on how this will work when she told me that if i did'nt help she could die, the pressure sat on my shoulders, knowing that Gemma has to have my help. We set about gathering the materials needed and under Gemmas instruction we set ourselves up for the spell, there was a picture of the dagger, and we sat in a circle of candle, with a map of the world spread out between us, we sat down either side of the map. "I've never had magic run through my body before, this is making me uneasy" i told her. She instructed "close your eyes, clear your mind and let me do the work, you'll be fine, it'll show us where the dagger is, by a flame of location on the map".

She grabbed my hands and we both closed our eyes, and Gemma started to chant in another ancient language, the same language i heard when Maria-Hope opened the Ancient willow tree.

There was a sudden blow of air and a light slowly became visable, to show a vision of the dagger lying at the bottom of a lake, we opened our eyes and the flame of location, set at a small town in Scotland.

So we set about preparing for a quest to go to scotland to retrieve this dagger, Gemma said with relief "ok, so we need to get to Glencoe, can you drive?" i looked at her and said "i'm only 15". She looked lost, she had been locked up and sheltered she didn't know that a 15yr old wasnt aloud to drive.

Gemma asked "what if i made you look older?" she waved her hand in front of my face and done an aging spell on me, she then turned and found a small piece of paper, held her finger out and a bolt electric flew from her finger and suddenly there was a full driving license with my face and name on it.

Impressed i smiled at Gemma and said "wow".
