The Protectors

Is This Hell

We finally arrived back in Dartmouth and parked the car. Gemma took Jessica and my hand, a swirl of air circled us. As we opened our eyes we were in the feild with the lone willow tree in the middle, but something wasn't quite right.

We started walking towards the willow, when out of nowhere, a 10ft troll appeared, towering and staring at us but with no movement, he had evil red eyes that of a demon, a cows shaped face with great horns to match. It came from behind the willow and suddenly, it started to charge towards us, Jessica shouted in terror "RUN AND SPLIT!!", I ran back the way we came with hopes that this thing would come for me and not the girls. Gemma went left and Jessica went right.

My plan, however, failed because as i ran i turned my head and saw this thing had charged towards Gemma instead.

I ran back desperatly trying to get this ugly things attention, but nothing i done was working. Gemma ran and ran as fast as so could be this thing kept gaining on her and there was nothing i could do.

Gemma used what ever spell or curse she could think of to get this troll off her tail, but alass still to no preveil.

To my horror when i turned and faced Jessica, a second troll with similar features to the other except this one had no horns, was chasing Jessica down, but why them and not me?

The troll didn't seem interested in me what so ever, both the trolls slowed down to regathered their strength's. And once again they both charged towards Gemma and Jessica again, they both ran into the woods, they ran as fast as they could desperately wanting to shake these thing off. Everything i did would not distract the trolls and they followed them.

I stood alone, wondering what was happening all i could hear was their pearcing screams , but there was nothing i could do other then run after them in hopes to distract the troll. I threw sticks and rocks at it's dopey head but nothing worked. Eventually one of the trolls caught Jessica and pinned her to the floor and her hand pinned to the side. It opened it's mouth to show it's really spaced but sharp teeth.

I ran into the willow which seemed to have been left open, and ran into the kitchen, to find something or just anything to use as a weapon against these guys.

I ran back up to the feild and into the woods, and i searched through the woods, i found the one thay had Jessica pinned down, I tried to stop the troll by stabbing it with a knife but the skin was too tough for the blade to pearce.

Gemma ran up behind me and pushed me out the way, she created a fire ball in her hand and pelted the troll, which set it on fire, as it desperatly ran around to put the fire out it finally dropped to the floor and died.

I asked Gemma "where's the other one gone?" "well the same way this dudes just gone, i foubd if i pelt him with a ball of fire it'll work". Me and Gemma smiled and breathlessly laughed at each other.

But as Gemma and I helped Jessica up off the floor, the smoke from the fireball started to clear and we found ourselves in a sacred area, the ground was soft with grass and there was a circle of stones. We wondered whether we stumbled across away of gaining entry into hell.

Gemma and Jessica noticed a lone stone in the middle of the circle as though it was a sacrificial stone, as we all entered the circle it looked as like Jessica and Gemma's soul became processed. Both of their eyes went bright white and both spoke at the same time, "you done well Brendon on getting here, but i told you to bring the chalis and dagger on your own, if you don't do as i've asked, your friends and mother will die, so i warn you come alone". "But how do i get them to you?" i asked, "place the dagger and chalis on the rock in the middle of the circle, i'll do the rest" they said.

I slowly walked towards the rock and pulled the dagger from my bag and placed it on the rock, i then pulled the chalis from the bag and placed it on the rock. The processed Gemma and Jessica started to chant in a weird language. The air around me started to swirl and then there was sudden bright white flash of light that blinded me for a moment.

When the light dimmed, i was stood in what looked like a caved corridor lit by candle light. I looked around to find Gemma and Jessica but there was no sign of the them.

I started to slowly walk down the caved corridor and crept around the corner, which led to a huge candle lit cave with what looked like a throne in the middle, as i looked to the right, there was a stone slab that looked like a tomb with a stone carving of what looked like a resurrection spell. So what are they resurrecting? the inly thing i can think of remembering what i have read is that they want to resurrect the soul keeper so Maria-Hooe can have his mind unser her control.

I found another caved corridor so i went to investigate where it goes, as i got to the end of the corridor i approached a old oak wood door. I opened it, it eas heavy and dragged along the floor, so i stopped and peered through the crack of the door, and the room kind of looked like an office with a desk on one side of the room, so i opened the door slower to find Gemma and Jessica tied to two wooden plinths knocked out on the other side of the room.

I ran to their aid and tried to cut the rope to set them free, it was then when i heard voices and foot steps coming down the corridor. In a blind panic i jumped under the desk to hide away. I looked out and it was an angry Maria-Hope dressed in cerimonial robes, bare foot and thorn crown on her head, she was telling off one of her minions, shouting at him and using her powers on him as punishment, because they didn't, for what ever reason capture me. He pleaded for forgiveness, while Maria went and sat at the desk and so i squeezed myself into the side of the desk so she didn't feel that i was under there.

I heard Maria-Hope shout "you were supposed to catch him i need his blood to carry out the ritual". The minion pleaded with her "i am so sorry you highness, i will never let you down again, i will accept whatever punishment". "Yes you will" She threatened. As i sat under the desk, i watched as the minion lifted up from the floor being choked, obviously from Maria's doing. "you will find him and quick or next time i'll snap your neck" she commanded, and threw him to the floor, he looked me straight in the eye but for some reason didn't tell Maria-Hope i was there. Maria-Hope got up from the desk and walked around to him, i tried to hide under a bit further into the desk, she stood in front the desk, where the minion lay in pain, she choked him again but this time to her foot, she commanded "kiss your queens foot, if you think your worthy to stay alive" he pulled himself over to Maria-Hopes foot and kissed it she then used her power on him again and made him get up, she then told the minion to get lost and find me. With that he started leaving the room, but as he was going he kept bowing to Maria-Hope as he believed she was queen, obviously scared of her he walked out of the room.

Maria stood there for a bit leaning on the desk. I started getting abit worried that she knew i was there, but then she walked over to Gemma and Jessica, and said "i told you what would happen if you didnt go home. You stupid girls". She turned and walked out of the room, and slammed the door. I siezed my moment and ran over to try and wake Gemma and Jessica. I tapped them lightly repeatly on the face to them wake up.

I finally woke Gemma up, confused on what was going on she asked "where are we?" "she's bought us to the lair, i think it's the dead zone, so mum's here somewhere" i answered. I cut her down and then tried to cut Jessica down. Gemma helped me get her to the floor, i tried to wake her but she was still none responsive. Gemma looked around at all the artifacts on the walls, it was a mixture of voodoo dolls, jewellery and other weird and wonderful stuff.

We finally woke Jessica. When Gemma asked "where's the chalis and dagger?" Forgetting about them we had to find them before Maria-Hope started the ritual. Gemma and I helped Jessica off the floor and made our way to the door.

We opened the door and sure enough our freedom didn't last long, because we stood face to face with Maria and her gang. "Hello, Brendon follow me" she said sarcastically.

We then were pulled and shoved by her minions. "So Brendon i need you to behave yourself, hiding under my desk you naughty boy" she said deviously. She led us down the caved hallway into the room with the throne. "Maria why are you doing this, your the soul keeper you could've just done what you want?" I asked. We got to the room with the throne, Maria-Hope turned and told us "me the soul keeper" she giggled "no my dear boy, but you and me are going to raise him, he's been trapped all this time, now i have the ingredients to literally move heaven and earth or create hell on earth which ever way you want to look at it" she said as she turned to us with an evil smile on her face.

She walked over to the tomb, where the soul keeper is trapped and stroked the lid gently with care and anticapation, that she's going to be queen of hell on earth. "Your blood spilt by this dagger into the chalis, poured over the remains of the soul keeper, he will rise but i will be in control of him and you puney little humans will become my slaves" she told us.

Gemma cried "you were supposed to be a protector", "good disguise don't you think?" Maria proudly replied. "You were my sister the one i looked up too" Gemma wailed. "yeah, your right" Maria said with no care "you will look up to me from the floor so bow to your queen". Gemma, Jessica and I refused to bow to a demon. But more insistant Maria held her hand to us all of us three and shouted "i said bow to your queen", with no control over our own bodies we dropped to the floor and bowed down to her.

As we were down on the floor Maria said while stood over us "you know my friend, the catcher". She aloud us to look up and it was the dark entity that took mum, and tried to capture me a few times.

In a deep gravelly voice the entity told Maria "It's time your highness". "but what i don't understand is, why? Gemma asked. "the man you called Dad knew what i was, so i mind controlled him" Gemma cried "but he loved you", "it was never real you gullibal girl it felt real because i made it so, when dad somehow snapped out of it, he had to go, so i mind controlled him to leave, and that night he jumped from a cliff, was because he was trying to come back and so i made him jump under my mind control". Angry Gemma cried "dare i ask about mum?". with a grin on her face Maria said "she was bitten by the same werewolf that was sent to kill you but for some reason attacked Brendon".

As the dicussions continued the entity picked me up and said "your highness we are going to miss the time of the pure full moon". Maria-Hope waved her hand and tied Gemma and Jessica back up and i was taken down to the sacrfice table, in the thrown room by her minions.

I was carried and lifted onto the sacrifice, i tried to resist, i punched and kicked as hard as my amrs and legs would let me. I punched a minion in the face which caused him to fall to the floor, as a result the dropped me, giving me a chance to attempt to run away.

I tackled the many minions to get out the door, as i got to the door Maria-Hope was stood in the doorway like a bouncer.

Maria held her hand up to me, she started using some sort of pain spell on me. I fell to the floor in excrusiating pain, as she twitched her hand, it felt like there was a small explosion of pain within my gut. "i guess your gonna come quietly" asked Maria-Hope. Determined not to give in to her magical bullying tactics, i told her "i wont come quietly to you". She twitched her hand more which caused more gut bursting pain, as i scuffed around the floor in pain, she demanded "you will come with me, if you want your mother to live, and further more this pain will stop". After so much pain and fear of mum being killed at the hands of her, i gave in.

Maria smiled and said "well done, good choice". Exhausted from the torture, the minions helped me up and dragged me back to the stoney sacrifice table and laid me down.

I watched on from the tabke as Maria-Hope stood next to me and flicked her hand. A sudden ball of fire came shooting from no where on the ground, when the fire cleared my mum was stood there.

Mum looked confused and when she saw me laid out on the slab, panic struck her. she tried to run to my aid screaming and crying, but the minions held her back.

The minions pushed mum to her knees, whilst being eatched by Maria. Just then a helper of Mari's at the table, handed her the book of soul's, she placed in on the tabke next to me, ready to read the spell and put it to action.

Maria looked at the book, bit there was a slight pause, before Maria commanded one of the minions "go get the two girls". But the minion dared to question her and asked "are you sure that's wise your highness?" Maria surprised of his bravery asked him "do you dar to question my decision?"

Suddenly backing down from his bravery he bowed and asked her "i ask your majesty, what if they break free?" Maria lent over to him and wispered "well, then i will torture you for letting them go, death will never come to you but torture will be forever". Certain she was not bluffing he smiled bowed again and ran down through the thrown room door.

While they were carrying out their duty, I tried to talk to Maria-Hope, in hope that she'll see some sense, as she was stood next to the table, next to me, waiting for her minions to carty out her bidding, i said "Maria-Hope, please, see sense. you don't need to do this, please, i trusted you you were supposed to protect me from this sort of thing". She made eye contact with me, so i knew she was listening, so i asked "what do you think the people you've protected before and pit heir trust into you would feel? they're the ones who love you, i loved you, it broke my heart when you turned against us, please see reason". Still making eye contact Maria-Hope reacted by saying in a struggle "i am, i'm so sorry?" I smiled as i thought i was getting through to her and she continued to say "i'm so sorry, that you think i care for you, with a click of my fingers i could have you worshiping me as your queen and there would be nothing you could do about it, so i suggest you shut, up before i make you shut up".

Dissappointed that i had failed i turned my head and looked at the ceiling ready to accept my fate. Eventually the minions entered the thrown room with Gemma and Jessica tied up and gagged. To make sure they didn't do anything the pinned them both against the wall.
